Who cares about the PR? It's abundantly clear that the vast majority of Bulls fans aren't seriously bothered by this and are fine with whatever Rose decides. My concern is about the Bulls FO actually running the team well. We're not even 11 months into what was always described as an 8-12 month recovery time. I have a lot of nits to pick with the front office but them not forcing Rose's hand (YET) isn't one of them. It was always a possibility he'd miss the whole year. That being said, I do think there is a low-level boil going on in terms of anger from a certain percentage of Bulls fans which will only increase the more time he misses and the more incoherent the messaging gets. Yeah, but those timeframe estimates were based on when he's be medically cleared to play, not "when Rose feels like he should." If it was the medical specialists coming back and saying, "yeah, he's not ready, he might miss the whole season," fine, nobody would be questioning anything. When he's apparently medically cleared to play but he's deciding to not take the next recovery step, OK, what the [expletive]? That's not what anyone was picturing when it was projected he might miss a year.
