  1. A few. And then the weird cubbievirus one that you already responded to. Most of the talk about Rose recruiting is obviously referring back to when the Bulls were spending and there were big names available at the time and Rose made it pretty clear he thought he didn't have to do that/they didn't really need another star.
  2. Who the hell are you responding to?
  3. He might steal playing time from Barney AND DeJesus.
  4. NAILED IT.
  5. I think Reggie is just taking the fall as the bad guy and this is what Derrick really thinks. Which is too bad, if true, because I think this team, if fully healthy, could beat the Heat at least once over the next few years if given the chance. could be, but that doesn't really sound like derrick rose. i think derrick rose is the guy who wants the challenge of being the guy who "single-handedly" wins a title with no superstars around him. didn't he get criticism for not calling lebron and generally choosing to not recruit other star players? Definitely. Not that that dictates how the Bulls are run, but it sure doesn't help when your top player basically flat out says he doesn't think he needs to try and talk anyone into coming (and even kinda openly questioned the need to get another star).
  6. Plus there's, what, two teams you could confidently declare to be "championship teams" right now.
  7. Yuuuuuuuuuuuuup. I remember thinking his family/friends/whatever were too involved when this idea of him sitting out the rest of the year or being further back than predicted was first leaked much further back in the season.
  8. I can't when being "antsy" seems to be based out of a basic lack of understanding of how this works. Reggie Rose clamoring for the Bulls to go get "good players" doesn't mean anything.
  9. Glad to see somebody say something. Granted its hard to find solid upgrades that wont gut your roster, but the Bulls are stagnant and seemingly content with being average. This isn't a championship caliber team. So you explicitly state you recognize why the Bulls didn't make a move, but then agree with someone slamming them for not making such a move in the very same post? The NBA trading deadline is a dumping ground.
  10. The crowd's reaction is pretty great.
  11. What a special little flower.
  12. I've got a co-worker who put down $20 that Rose was going to pull off a surprise return against the Heat tonight. I thought about the myriad ways I could argue this and then just shut up and enjoyed the insanity.
  13. The Campana trade might comically impact both the Cubs' and Diamondbacks' rankings!
  14. Holy [expletive], Sullivan; there's so much wrong with that statement I don't even know where to begin. Sorry for ever doubting you, WSR, though I'm already doing it again as I type this.
  15. That's exactly the kind of thing that would be pounced on by @FacebookCubs. There might have been one godforsaken mook saying that who WSR inexplicably follows, but otherwise he just made it up.
  16. Man, Rizzo has some serious Jim Thome-style-goober-face going on there.
  17. Who is saying this? Show me. Terrible at 2B and SS, tolerable elsewhere.
  18. Uhhhhhhhhhhh.
  19. Sure, but nobody is saying he doesn't have a baseball ability that he's good at; there's a huge difference between that and actually having a useful enough player that you can justify giving a roster spot to.
  20. Wow, really? I had no idea; I still thought it was a lot higher than that.
  21. Right; he's basically only useful as a pinch-runner since he can't really get on base enough himself. That write-up seems like a rather unsuccessful attempt to put lipstick on a pig.
  22. I'd say this was pathetic trolling even for Kyle, but it worked, so we suck.
  23. Me neither, but given the insane numbers we've seen tossed out for the Dodgers and Rangers part of me thinks that whatever it would be would be really, really worth it. But wouldn't CSN know that too, and therefore ask for the moon? I really have little understanding of how this all works. And since they own 25% of it, how does that work? Is this basically just Reinsdorf's call (since, I'm guessing, he owns 50% or so of it)? Well, sure, they could ask for something insane, but they obviously know there's a limit as to what they'd actually get. Whatever projected revenue they'd get off of the Cubs for the rest of the deal + whatever extra on top is negotiated. Maybe something like they'd get an annual small percentage of the Cubs' new media deal for a certain period of time? I'd have to imagine something like that would have some appeal since otherwise it's obvious the Cubs will just leave after 2019.
