3 for 3 so far along with about 85 percent of the world. I have 3 higher seeds and Kentucky in this next group, but none of the games feature a team I have winning more than once.
A - Alex Rodriguez B - Matt Holliday, Alfonso Soriano C - Aramis Ramirez, Travis Hafner, Adrian Gonzalez D - Gary Sheffield, Ryan Zimmerman, Jason Bay, Nick Markakis, Kevin Kouzmanoff Wild Card - Michael Young
The Bulls would have to lose all their remaining games to have even a remote chance of landing anyone truly good in the draft. I'll take the fraction of one percent chance that the Bulls catch fire and make a playoff run over the one percent chance that the Bulls get a high draft pick that Paxson would probably screw up anyway.
Bulls get a pivotal win over NJ - they'd have been in really dire straits if they'd lost that one. Nets host Atlanta tomorrow, so the Bulls will gain a half-game on one of those two regardless.
This is my least gutsy bracket that I've ever filled out. West Virginia to the Sweet 16, Michigan State to the Elite 8 and Stanford to the title game are the only picks on mine that remotely resemble gutsy.
If it was up to me I would get rid of everybody on the team expect for Noah and Tyrus and even them I would trade for something if needed. Gooden has been really good since coming over I wouldn't have a problem keeping one of Gordon and Hughes either - both are inconsistent, but the Bulls need at least one person capable of going off for 30+ on a given night.
170. Johnny Damon 171. Felix Pie 172. Jack Cust 173. Jeff Francoeur 174. Alex Gordon 175. Rafael Furcal 176. Jonathan Broxton 177. Jered Weaver 178. Carlos Marmol 179. Frank Thomas
I created the NSBB group and sent invites to all the members I'm 'friends' with that added the CBSSports app. For anyone else that has a Facebook and wants in, here's the link.
Do the NSBBers that have Facebooks want to put together an NSBB group again? I was going to create it tonight but I want to make sure all the usual suspects want in.
I have K-State, George Mason, Butler, and (gulp) Mississippi State all in the Sweet 16. You jerk. Gutsy picks though. I thought for a loooong time about the Butler/Tennessee game before wimping out and taking the Vols. I suppose my biggest 'surprise' pick is Michigan State to the Elite 8.
For the first time probably ever I have no double-digit seeds in the Sweet 16. I'm not sure I feel good about that. I only have one 7 making it that far and none below that.
Lunardi still has ND as a 4 seed...I'm still not sure I see it. I had ND as a 4 too, but it seems like we have the profile of a 5. If the Irish get a 4 it's because of the mass tournament crap-out of the other teams in that area.
I just want one finish like the Minnesota/IU game. The last time I can remember a legitimately "OMG what the hell just happened" NCAA buzzer-beater was Northwestern State/Iowa I think in 2006. OSU/Xavier was awesome last year but not quite the same.
