Every time I watch Carolina play this year, I feel like the other team is vastly superior and that if we win it's lucky. They just aren't that good.

BSU is 0-8 for the first time in school history after a 59-48 loss to Indiana State. I picked a great year to be the beat writer.

I'm in Terre Haute covering BSU basketball, and ND has more points at halftime (57) against N. Illinois than Ball State and ISU do put together (44). With over a 30-point lead, I'm fairly sure that the new Joyce Center win streak record will be set tonight. The Irish will get their 25th straight in South Bend.

It's going to look weird, but it's a very cool idea that should draw a good amount of fans. I know I'll want to visit when the Cubs play there in interleague.

Darius Hill should've been a finalist, he had more yards than the two finalists other than Travis Beckum, in one fewer game in Martin Rucker's case (though I think he should've been a finalist over Fred Davis, not Martin Rucker).

After what Harbaugh said over the summer about UM athletics, I really doubt they're looking to bring him in.

Ball St. was 6-7 from beyond the arc. Hard to complain about the other team's hot shooting. You should beat Arkansas St. Yeah, this was our best-shooting game of the year, and I'm not quite sure where it came from since Purdue is so good on defense. Indiana St. on Saturday is winnable too, and I think two straight wins would do wonders for this team's confidence.

Another Ball State game, another frustratingly close loss to a good opponent. This time it's 70-57 to Purdue in a game we led 44-42 before the Boilers decided they weren't going to miss three-pointers anymore (which the last 4 opponents have all done).

I just found out today that I'll be able to tag along with the Daily News people who are going up on Jan. 2nd...meaning I get two full days in Toronto before the game, and the hotel is comped. Ohh, yeah. 8-) NC, if you do buy a ticket I'd encourage you to go through ballstatesports.com - if they don't sell their 10K ticket allotment (no chance they will) they have to pay for each ticket that goes unsold. $40 tickets and you get lower level seats. :)

I like Hoke. I haven't actually talked to him, but I've attended his postgame press conferences a few times. He's a good guy. He's definitely not ready for the UM job. Although it would get harder to hate them with a BSU guy in charge.

ND gets a gigantic win they had to have over Kansas State 68-59. Truth be told they didn't play well and let KSU back in with some dumb plays. Harangody (19/14) is a monster. I'm ready for Big East season.

Notre Dame will ALWAYS get an at-large BCS bid when the qualify. ALWAYS In the interest of fairness, most years (emphasis on most, not all - see 2005) Notre Dame plays a schedule difficult enough to justify it anyway. And I'd expect Penn State, UM, OSU, USC, Texas, and all the other high-tier programs with well-traveling fans to always get a bowl bid if they qualified too.

It's still tw years in a row for Kentucky going to a bowl game. I don't think that's happened since the Tim Couch era. My three favorite teams (Ball State, Indiana, and Kentucky) are all going bowling. I don't think that's ever happened before. Ball State's only been to two before, so that's a pretty good bet. Actually it's three (California Bowl in 1989; Las Vegas Bowl in 1993 and 1996). Or maybe you were talking about DIFFERENT bowls and not counting repeat appearances in the same bowl. :wink: Huh, no, I thought it was two. Interesting. Never won one though, I don't think. But that's gonna change. Toronto's going to rock. Are you going to try and go, NCCubFan?

Actually, they were an 8-win team because they lost to a I-AA team and got absolutely smoked by Oregon at home. They may have been a 9-win team had they had those guys for the Wisco game but that's about it.

It's looking highly likely that I won't be going as media to the International Bowl, so I'll probably just go and have fun. There's more than a few people I know who are interested in going and tickets are dirt cheap so it's a fairly reasonable trip.
