  1. I've seen the Cubs at Wrigley and Great American (07 division clincher FTW), the Reds at Great American, and the D-Backs, Brewers, Phillies and Padres at Wrigley.
  2. ND hired Georgia Tech blitz architect Jon Tenuta as assistant head coach/defense yesterday. After the destruction his guys wreaked on Irish offensive lines the last two years, I'm pumped to see what he can do with the ND front seven. Great hire.
  3. ND escapes Providence 81-74 in overtime. Friars crashed the boards like crazy and that was the reason they were in it. Thank the lord for that scrub missing 8 straight free throws at the end of the game. 31 and 14 for Luke. 32 straight at home for Notre Dame. 15-4, 5-2.
  4. I don't have the money to go, but that didn't stop me last year. I might see if I can make it.
  5. That's a php2 issue, I think Tim may have mentioned it earlier in this thread.
  6. Harangody was named midseason Top 30 candidate for the Wooden and Naismith Awards this week. Good to see him get the pub he deserves. Can't wait to see him and the Irish take on Providence tomorrow.
  7. I agree with you hawkeyecub, I watched a lot of the PU/Wisco game and they just got away with everything. I'm starting to believe that the Big Ten's 'great defense' that you always hear about is just the refs letting teams get away with everything on defense.
  8. Web sites have ND tabbed as anywhere from a 4 to a 12 seed right now. Winning their next four games (3 at home and at Seton Hall, whom they have no excuse to lose to) would go a long way towards bumping that upwards a bit.
  9. At least it's on national TV. Whose brilliant idea was that?
  10. Very impressive work, Flames. Anyone see the GTown/WVU finish? Wow. Ewing Jr. blocks the game-winning layup attempt as time runs out. I love the Big East.
  11. You're joking, right? Purdue lost at home to Wofford and Iowa State. I don't think they're that good. Nor do I, but it sure doesn't seem like you have to be that good to be the best team in the Big Ten, and Purdue's 6-1 in league play, the 1 being a 3-point loss at Michigan State when Robbie Hummel had the flu and didn't play (and Purdue should have won that game).
  12. Could Purdue be the best team in the Big Ten? I guess we'll find out when they face IU...and when they get that return visit from Mich. State.
  13. Ball State chokes a 12-point halftime lead away, shoots 8/17 from the line, and loses on the road to Ohio, one of the best teams in the MAC. Infuriating.
  14. I think Villanova is a for sure also. You may be right. They can't afford any more losses like the one to Rutgers, though.
  15. It's early, so this may change but as of now the Big East might get 9 teams into the dance. Right now I'd say they have at least 7 for-sures if tomorrow were Selection Sunday. Georgetown Pitt WVU Notre Dame Louisville UConn Marquette
  16. Home court in college basketball is worth more to the oddsmakers than possibly any other sport. And WVU is 4-2 in the Big East, so they're no slouch.
  17. Thank you Kyle McAlarney and Luke Harangody. They combine for 55 points and ND finally wins a road game, 90-80 over Villanova. That was one that they absolutely had to have.
  18. Why does it seem that way? The Pats, as the home team, get to pick.
  19. There are a LOT of White Sox and Cardinals fans who still think Wrigley is the best park in baseball. Warrants mentioning.
  20. I would just like to point out how funny it is that IU has been in Big Ten play for nearly a month and yet UConn is arguably better than anyone they've played so far in the conference.
  21. It's easy to look like a genius when you're dealing with an idiot. Cue Hendry/Littlefield joke This is absurd. It's like Sabean doesn't like a player unless he's crappy and/or overrated.
  22. Baylor wins 116-110. I was incensed about ND's loss to them when it happened, but at 16-2 (4-0), it's turned out to be much less big of a deal than I figured it would be.
  23. Perfect. Villanova loses to Rutgers, so they'll be pissed and clobber Notre Dame. Why do teams we play on the road have to keep losing the game before?
  24. Ball State blew a chance to steal one on the road last night. Covering this team for the paper is sort of frustrating.
