  1. Pitching in the bigs gets a little easier when the ump gives you an extra 2 inches in each quadrant of the strike zone, but whatever
  2. That was about as clutch as a CS gets. Gomes is something else
  3. It might be because I'm looking for it but there seem to be an annoying number of big time ABs these days with Happ up where I would really prefer Cody
  4. That's one hell of a job by Steele tonight.
  5. In my head it's probably horsefeathers like that that's been happening for the Brewers this entire win streak
  6. Are we so close to the tax that a month of any of these guys would make the difference? Seems like this would fall under the "trade deadline fund" Jed supposedly always has, and the Cubs didn't do much in the way of money at the deadline. Someone pointed out in the other thread though that the AL teams get first crack so it seems hard to believe the Cubs will get the people they want.
  7. God it drives me insane when guys don't throw strikes. I know it's not that simple but it will take 3 home runs to tie the game from when Hayes stepped in, make him freaking hit one
  8. Good lord the Brewers won again. I wasn't aware we were trying to catch the 27 Yankees. Let's close this out
  9. To double back to this briefly, Verducci said it was the most anticipated debut for a Cubs first round pitcher since Prior, which did lead me to wonder if we'd even seen one since him.
  10. He should just throw the good pitches first next time
  11. These stat/award-heavy grids feel like they should always be easy, but I inevitably screw something up trying to get too cute. 7 today
  12. Which is why replay needs to get trashed. If that's not going to get followed then I don't want it
  13. The Cal, Stanford and SMU to the ACC stuff is cooking again. Meanwhile the season literally starts in 2 days. This is ridiculous.
  14. I'm really just sick to death of Taillon.
  15. He was re-signed along with JD prior to the '22 season, so probably not. I haven't enjoyed the Boog era as much as I hoped to, but unless Len is coming back (he's not) I'm cool with him sticking around.
  16. I still haven't gotten used to the idea that Nick Madrigal is pretty decent but I'm glad he has been.
  17. Be ready to be driven crazy by Oakland/200-K season
  18. 8/9 today, Angels/CWS tripped me up.
  19. Having like 5 pitchers you can feel remotely comfortable with on the mound seems like an issue
  20. I think everybody here understands who you don't want to start but you haven't come horsefeathers close to saying who should. Throwing Drew Smyly in a pennant race seems pretty damn stupid too given evidence at hand.
  21. They must have taken back the error they gave to the Royals CF on Happ's Little League triple in the first inning of that one.
  22. The Harbaugh saga continues.
  23. I only got 7 today because I whiffed twice on the Cubs/. 300 square. Ernie Banks was one wrong answer and I forget the other one.
