    I'm back to expecting a losing overall record, but I'm going to assume they'll be over .500 again at some point this month.

    Hard to argue any of this. The Hosmer [expletive] has nuked my faith in him but his pitching management has never been any good either.

    Also, Madrigal is playing 3B and leading off because of course he is.

    I guess day-to-day is better than 'we know he needs to go on the IL now because it's that bad', but I get the feeling we're headed for another situation where he's basically down for 10 days anyway but we just pretend he might come back sooner and play a man down for that entire time.

    I'd say that was a decidedly mixed reaction. Lots of boos. Camera caught a couple guys flipping him off in the bleachers

    Backup CF is a good point, but this is almost a little annoying. Dumping one guy doing well to bring up another instead of getting rid of some dead weight.

    Standing O the first time. Full stop. If they want to give him a chorus of boos as a joke-that's-maybe-not-totally-a-joke the 2nd time he bats, I'm ok with that too.

    I'm so glad we wasted 5 innings of pitching in the middle of 3 straight weeks without an off day to get back to where we would've been without the 9th inning rally

    I used to go out of my way to watch extra inning games if I saw one was happening but I just flat out will not watch one that isn't the Cubs. A small protest but still.

    Did Mancini already bat? Why didn't he hit for Mervis? Awesome rally though

    I know I've read that Wood said his arm hurt when he did that fist pump after #20, and that that was the first time his arm had hurt all day. I think maybe he also said he wasn't totally 100% the whole rest of the season? That part I'm not sure of.
