    Those numbers are all great and I don't remotely trust that the team is good enough to keep them going long enough for their close-game luck (or failures, depending on the mood I'm in on a given day) to normalize. All they mean to me is the team has wasted probably the best baseball they'll play this season on a 20-26 record.

    The problem is 'eventually' probably won't be this year, at least in an everyday sense. The Cubs won't be comfortable using Heuer on back-to-back days and things like that probably at any point this season. And considering we'll probably be out of contention by the time he gets back, they shouldn't be.

    If that isn't gone yet, I believe it's getting phased out.

    And much like me (not to bring another sport into this), your only team that doesn't suck is stuck on this treadmill of being one of the best handful of teams but nowhere close to the super-elite group. It's not a super fun time!

    I can't believe those talks got all that far. Stroman is in position to get a pretty good contract if he pitches well this season and Jed isn't going to be interested in him at the number he'll be seeking if that happens.

    NBC is producing 2 other playoff games that weekend, and like everything NBC does, they will also stream on Peacock. That's probably what you saw. But one game is exclusive to Peacock.

    Getting very tired of paying triple digits for MLB.TV and the season being effectively over before Memorial Day

    Them turning around their season the second we showed up on the schedule was among the most predictable things ever. I don't gamble but I should've acted on whatever their division odds were going into that series

    Hosmer getting ejected after complaining about a called 3rd strike that was a strike (albeit presented poorly) is pretty Hosmerish

    I'm sure it's totally normal for guys to come up from AAA and almost immediately start hitting lasers and blasting opposite field second-deck shots in high-leverage spots, right?

    It's getting reallll tiresome watching Hosmer come up with guys on base while ahead of clearly better hitters - which, on this roster, just about everyone save Barnhart is. If he must play here and there, stop hitting him 6th and above, for the love of God.
