I doubt it. I can't see Michigan winning a rivalry game. This is like when the Bulls held their firesale and all the teams the Bulls had been whipping on for years licked their chops and beat the crap out of us. You outgained Notre Dame by over 100 yards offensively, Penn State sleepwalked through the first 27 minutes of today's game...if your rivals are licking their chops, they must not be very hungry. Well ND probably isn't as good as Michigan State (no offense), and Penn State has more aspirations that just finally beating Michigan (like their showdown vs. Ohio State next week). Michigan State-Michigan is the White Sox-Cubs of the Big Ten. They won't blow an opportunity to embarrass Michigan Haha, I can hardly take offense. MSU beat us and played pretty well in that game (though we've improved significantly since Charlie basically said, "screw this, we're passing the ball every play"). I'll take your word on MSU/UM for now, though.

Virginia beat UNC, who was never really that good to begin with, 16-13 in OT. Damn, we really should've beaten them.

Heads-up play by Jevan Snead in Alabama, where the Rebs trail 24-20 with the ball. Caught a deflected pass to himself and gained 5 yards. Wow, Snead! Runs away from a sack and gets a 1st. Hell of a play!

The halftime report of Michigan/PSU included Rece Davis saying 25 (against UCLA) is the smallest margin of defeat by WSU against an FBS school this year.

From the "this would've been a huge deal a few years ago" department, Duke is leading Miami 24-21 in the 3rd quarter.

Speaking of Toledo, Northern Illinois is schooling them right now. Ball State's November schedule includes their four most difficult MAC games (NIU, @Miami U, @CMU and WMU), all four of which might end up on ESPN2 - the first three already are and WMU might get picked up as well.

I don't understand why RichRod can't teach these guys the spread and work it in gradually to give this team a chance to win this year. Yes, trial by fire probably works quicker, but if I were a UM fan (shudder), I don't know if I'd consider it worth it to go through things like a home loss to Toledo.

Seriously, Notre Dame needs to demand to play Michigan State in late October or later from now on if the series is to continue. I'm sick of watching Good MSU beat us over and over again and then watching this crappy monstrosity of a team show up halfway through the Big Ten season. And c'mon Navy. Come back against Pitt.

The Niners have been one of the sorriest teams in the NFL this decade and the Cowboys haven't won a playoff game since what, 1997? Carolina isn't that bad. I was just kiddingly referring to Carolina's (and for the most part, the NFC South's) complete lack of television exposure. There's been little wrong with their actual results as compared to everyone else since 1995. And yeah, SF is not on TV much either - but when I was a kid everyone was an SF or Dallas fan, hence the remark.

2nd week in a row that Carolina has been in one of the most important/best matchups of the week, 2nd week in a row that no one will see it. Meanwhile Charlie Frye is on Sunday Night Football. I should've just been a Niners or Cowboys fan like everybody else.
