  1. And good lord, if Penn State finds a way to lose that's Big Ten armageddon.
  2. I took Wazzu +43.5 in the college pickem league because surely USC would take it easy. Maybe not.
  3. Seriously, Notre Dame needs to demand to play Michigan State in late October or later from now on if the series is to continue. I'm sick of watching Good MSU beat us over and over again and then watching this crappy monstrosity of a team show up halfway through the Big Ten season. And c'mon Navy. Come back against Pitt.
  4. A&M up 23-20 on Texas Tech just before the half. This is a real exciting game.
  5. The Niners have been one of the sorriest teams in the NFL this decade and the Cowboys haven't won a playoff game since what, 1997? Carolina isn't that bad. I was just kiddingly referring to Carolina's (and for the most part, the NFC South's) complete lack of television exposure. There's been little wrong with their actual results as compared to everyone else since 1995. And yeah, SF is not on TV much either - but when I was a kid everyone was an SF or Dallas fan, hence the remark.
  6. And to think I was trying to remember. Of course it was the Cubs. The Hack Wilson game where he lost two fly balls in the sun.
  7. 2nd week in a row that Carolina has been in one of the most important/best matchups of the week, 2nd week in a row that no one will see it. Meanwhile Charlie Frye is on Sunday Night Football. I should've just been a Niners or Cowboys fan like everybody else.
  8. If Boston gets another legendary comeback I'm going to firebomb them.
  9. Indiana is pretty horrendous.
  10. Down goes another. Now Utah and Boise State need to fall and the door is open for... the mighty Ball State Cardinals!!! (Ok, probably not really, BYU will still be ranked ahead of us next week after all.)
  11. Not to pile on your mistakes, but that was 2 seasons before. They were a 7-win team the previous season. :)
  12. As usual, I have no idea whatsoever what will happen. Carolina is the enigma of the league and has been for four years. We could conceivably win or lose the game by up to 30 points either way. Should be a good game, though.
  13. KU +19 as of now. i think it could get worse than that. We have no real pass rush, and our running game is mediocre at best. The O line has gotten better, at least. at least it's not 43 like the USC/WSU game. I remember the last time USC was favored by at least 40. http://www.pe.com/imagesdaily/2007/10-07/stanford_usc_football_400.jpg
  14. Good trade for the Lions if true, they're not going anywhere with or without Roy.
  15. Panthers have as close to a must-win game this week as it ever gets in Week 7. Carolina is already at a disadvantage to Tampa Bay after getting crushed last week, falling behind them by a half-game in divisional record as well as losing the H2H tiebreaker for now. A loss to New Orleans would do the same thing with regard to the Saints and put Carolina at a 1-2 divisional record. A win probably gives the Panthers some semblance of control of their destiny, while a loss means they'll need help the rest of the way with tough games coming up. Huge game. Need to contain Bush and stop the pass, which they did a miserable job of last week.
  16. Yeah, people say (correctly) that Hendry has been the beneficiary of dealing with small-market teams, but even then, the Cubs haven't gone on to watch anyone the caliber of, say, Jason Bay or Hanley Ramirez then tear it up for said small-market team, either.
  17. 30-3? What the hell has happened to New England?
  18. I'm 28,444. I'm pretty sure I have somehow moved backwards on the list.
  19. it is impossible to screw the pooch against indiana. they got destroyed by iowa and ball state, they're extremely terrible. michigan state is pretty tough, but i just cannot see penn state losing their last game of the season at home with a national championship bid on the line. WVU/Pitt Early to say it perhaps, but I think 08 Penn State is substantially better than 07 West Virginia. The same is probably true for 08 MSU vs. 07 Pitt, but if Penn State is unbeaten and shows up for that game I really don't see MSU winning. Watching Michigan go 2-5 should be fun.
  20. You called it, friend.
  21. What a kick. Awesome. Overtime in Phoenix.
  22. What an embarrassing performance by Carolina. Tampa's a great run defense, the Panthers are better at passing than running, so naturally we don't throw except for like 2 drives. Steve Smith having another 100-yard day after getting thrown to probably 7 times in the game is an upset. Probably the greatest wideout that's been inexplicably ignored by his coaching staff of all time. Tampa is really good. Atlanta pulled one out of their butts. With Washington's embarrassing home loss, the NFC South is right up there with the NFC East (minus about two-thirds the viewing audience).

  24. Ball State's new highest ranking ever. :D And one of only three 7-0 teams in the nation.
