  2. Carolina is absolutely dominating right now. The Chiefs have 5 offensive yards and the Panthers lead 14-0.
  3. Ball State is ranked! :D
  4. My favorite moment was receiving my money back for my Game 5 NLDS ticket.
  5. "At least 101 takes longer to say"
  6. Not quite as depressing as I expected. Can't fault him too much, though. This whole thing would've happened with or without his screwups and he did pretty well besides that.
  7. The really crappy part is that this team probably won't be all that good in 2009.
  8. I'm in this boat. I'm more frustrated than I was on Thursday when I was trying to play the "I love this team" game, but I'm not nearly as mad at everyone (except, for some reason, Ryan Theriot) as most Cubs fans probably are.
  9. The Cubs handed LA one fewer run in the 2nd inning of Game 2 than they scored in 27 innings.
  10. I've been unemployed for five months (well, I have a 'job', but it's pulling orders in a warehouse) since I graduated, and these guys kept me sane that whole time more than anything else could. I think that more than anything is what I take from this season...that during a really crappy time in my life, the Cubs helped. This wasn't the year. You know what? Some other year will be.
  11. Thanks for the fun year, NSBB. See you back in the game thread forum in six months. ...
  12. Wow, that's almost borderline mean. Pat must be taking this hard.
  13. The sad part is that absolutely none of us really thought anything was coming of that. Truly scary thought - what if everyone just flat out loses any faith this will ever happen?
  14. Would've been more so if they had done that for Game 1. By the time this game rolled around we had plenty of warning this would happen whereas Titanic came out of nowhere. "Captain, we've run these channels five times in the last 25 years, and five times we've ran into an iceberg and had a horrific tragedy. Should we be nervous it might happen a sixth?" The 2008 Cubs have nothing to do with any other Cubs team (except to some extent 2007). I'm kinda tired of hearing anything to the contrary. Keep predicting that, keep being wrong. Keep guaranteeing they'll win games, keep being wrong. Does it get old being wrong so often? How the heck would you know that I often predict things? I don't. I made that prediction because I had a feeling. I was clearly wrong. I really don't give a crap about being right or wrong, I want to see the Cubs win. And it's not happening. But that doesn't mean I'm buying into some damn curse that doesn't exist.

  16. They've got their own getting swept to worry about.

  18. Rich Harden is not to blame for this fiasco. That would've been his 1st run given up of the game if the rules could be called correctly on the field, for one thing. what rule? i must be too drunk to remember Martin at 3rd base.

  20. Ball sticks under the fence. That sums it up pretty well.
  21. A further problem is that he's batting.
  22. I apologize for my ridiculous guarantee. I didn't realize Hiroki Kuroda was the Asian equivalent of Jesus freaking Christ.
  23. You know, I really hope LA enjoys getting smacked around by whoever wins the other series because they don't hand them games.
  24. That was a major screwup, yes, but DeRosa has been one of the best players on our team this playoffs. And yes, I'm aware how pathetic that is since he has a key GIDP and a key error.
