  1. Ah, Valentine. He was the one that called a blocking foul on Colin Falls on a key possession against Winthrop in the 2007 tourney when ND's offense was already past halfcourt on the other end. Memories...
  2. Maybe he wasn't so big on Sanchez jumping after all.
  3. Michigan beat them at the JAC in '05-'06. Wow, I knew they beat us at the JACC but I didn't think it was that year - that same year they beat us in round 2 of the NIT.
  4. He has a decent chance of being a first-day pick this year, especially with his strong and accurate arm. Next year's QB class looks to be much better. He stands to make more money leaving now, even with his underwhelming last two games as a collegian. And of course, you never know what could happen a year from now, but right now there are a lot of teams that look to have open starting positions for 2009 and Davis has a good shot of playing early.
  5. Notre Dame hasn't lost a home game since February 2006, so I'm fairly confident Michigan didn't beat them at the Joyce in 06-07. I think the last time the two teams played in the regular season was 04-05 in Ann Arbor.
  6. man if that is true that's pretty embarrassing for meyer. a coach shouldn't completely revise his offensive game plan to get his quarterback to stick around for one more year, and to pump up that player's nfl draft stock. What if they ran an offense more like the one he ran with Chris Leak. Is that really a revision or was the Tim Tebow offense a revision from the one he ran when he got to Florida. Meyers has proven to be pretty flexible with his offense. I think this is a strength more than weakness. Well they won the NC with what they ran this year so I wouldn't change anything. And I can't see Meyer leaving for Notre Dame. At this point Florida is the better program and has more prestige. ND is his "dream job" though. I could see him leaving Florida with the desire to build Notre Dame back up to what it once was. Yeah, Meyer's a practicing Catholic, named after a pope, was a highly regarded assistant at ND under Davie before he began his climb up the head coaching ranks, and wants to be at ND. He chose Florida over ND the first time because his kids were young at the time and he wanted to be able to recruit more locally is the scuttlebutt. I want Charlie to be the guy at ND but if he proves to not be after 09 then man I really hope that report is true.
  7. Ball State QB Nate Davis enters the draft. 2nd or 3rd round pick probably, could move up if the other big names stay.
  8. Louisville can suck it. The refs were absolutely horrifyingly bad on both sides. Mike Brey needs to learn to play a damn reserve once in a while. This is going to happen at the end of every close game.
  9. Steelers. They won't allow much of a running attack and Joe Flacco ain't beating Pittsburgh by himself.
  10. Pomeroy's ratings were pretty on the money with ND. Luke and Tory Jackson were rated our two most important players, which is true, and KMac is 3rd. The only thing that's off is Ryan Ayers is listed as our 2nd least important, which I disagree with - when Ayers isn't on we tend to have trouble (St. John's). He also had us going 9-9 in the Big East, though. Which is possible but it would surprise me. Louisville at Freedom Hall in 15 minutes. Harangody had 40 points last time but ND lost. Hopefully we get the W this time.
  11. Are you worried that picking a QB high in the draft could look like a 1-game overreaction to an otherwise solid year from Delhomme? Granted the Panthers should have been looking at a QB this year anyway, but thanks to a 6 turnover playoff showing, draft a QB in the first 2 rounds and the pressure will be there from minicamp for Carolina to make a change. Could really screw up a team that I think has one of the brightest futures in the league. Delhomme's contract is up, and I'm guessing his demands would be more (years) than Carolina should even remotely consider giving him. This is their fault for not getting one last year to groom under Jake, anyway. Unless they really think Matt Moore is the guy in waiting, which would also be dumb.
  12. This could go either way, I think both teams will play very well. But I'll go with the Eagles. Too much defense.
  13. Ok, I said it last year and they didn't listen to me and it's turned out pretty well, but this time we REALLY need a freaking quarterback.
  14. I think Brady has 5. You are correct, sir. Four wins and a loss.
  15. Donovan McNabb is about to play in his 5th conference title game, which unless I'm much mistaken is more than any active quarterback, including Brett Favre (who's played in four to my recollection) and Peyton Manning (I believe three).
  16. I don't know a whole ton about ND recruiting but I don't know the name Marlon Pollard. I do know that expecting us to nab the top class this year would be foolish after we miraculously managed to do so last year at 3-9.
  17. I bet the three AFC teams are pissed that they have to play real playoff games next week while the Philly/Giants winner gets a bye. Or something like that
  18. And our running backs, because somehow I'm an idiot and skipped them.
  19. If we get rid of Gross I will be incensed. Him, Otah and Smith are the only offensive players that are musts to keep for me.
  20. The moment I started to believe, we got crushed. It's typical of my Panthers-fan life. We play both East divisions next year, Arizona and Minnesota as well as a tough South, so if we make the playoffs again next year I'd be pretty surprised.
  21. Actually Favre threw 6 INTs in the game against the Rams. That performance is the worst I have ever seen a QB look in the playoffs. Jake Delhomme looks at that as a challenge.
  22. I promise those of you that don't give a crap about Carolina (all of you), that's not the Delhomme that played all season. I honestly have no idea where this came from.
  23. Jake Delhomme is competitive as hell, so it might be a smart idea to have someone keep an eye on him for the next week or so just to make sure he doesn't off himself
  24. The Lions would beat whoever these morons are that put on Panthers uniforms. They would crush them.
  25. hahahahahahahahaha screw you idiots.
