  1. MSU pulled a Hummel there to get Devan Dumes's 3rd foul. Except not nearly as convincing.
  2. I don't understand this at all. Brey has to be feeling a bit of heat. Every year it seems his teams underacheive. I'm not understanding how we came to his teams underachieving every year (he won back to back Big East coach of the year awards because his team did the exact opposite), but our abject refusal to play defense, ever, has clearly caught up with us.
  3. Wow, Notre Dame is one of the worst teams I've ever seen. I just spent most of the game laughing at them.
  4. Overweight guy known best for his pinch hitting roles, yep this sounds like Lenny Harris all over again. He'll get way too many starts this year. Oh yeah, I'm sure he will. Just saying if Dusty used him right, there's a chance he could revert back to 07 Ward. I don't think very many people are ever going to be able to be 07 Ward, including Ward himself. People forget how damn good he was in 2007.
  5. Brey should be in legit trouble after that Cincy loss. ND will probably make the NIT no matter what(assuming a winning record) cause they're ND and they'll draw, but Brey should probably be canned if they only finish a couple games over. Have you heard any rumblings at all about him being on the hot seat? No, I don't think he'd be in trouble unless this happened again next season, which it easily could - we're losing three starters.
  6. Ever since teams decided to start face-guarding KMac out to 30 feet and keep him from getting open at all costs, as well as reducing their double-teams on LFH, Mike Brey has had no answer. I don't expect ND will ever seriously compete with Brey as coach - pretty good Sweet 16-type team is pretty much their ceiling.
  7. You really have an easy stretch coming up don't you...I wouldn't be surprised if there like 16-9 they'll be back in it @UCLA tomorrow, vs Louisville next Thursday, and two weeks from tomorrow, @UConn. It ain't happening.
  8. ENOUGH ALREADY. The bottom of the Big East is awful. They are going to have a lower percentage of teams make the tourney than the Big Ten, and possibly the ACC or Pac 10. They're still a good conference, but this talk about how deep they are, when half their teams might not make the tournament, with 1/4 of them not even belonging in major conference ball is annoying as hell. I always defer to Jay Bilas (as anyone in college hoops should do because he's awesome), who says that there's an argument to be made for which conference is the best overall, just not 1-12.
  9. Notre Dame not even mentioned in Bubble Watch. Ouch.
  10. Apparently Manti Te'o's teammate, WR Roby Toma, is going to renege on his verbal to UCLA and sign with Notre Dame, according to WNDU-TV South Bend. The story said he's unhappy that Neuheisel didn't try harder to land Te'o, whetever that means.
  11. Might be time for someone on Penn State to bite the bullet and flop like a gunshot victim to get Harris chucked out of this game.
  12. The word from the USC message boards and the ND blogs is that Jawanza Starling hasn't actually faxed in his letter of intent to USC yet and may still be in play. Apparently Pete Carroll didn't mention Starling in his press conference. Apparently Weis cryptically alluded to the possibility that ND may yet get one or two more recruits, which could be taken as referring to Starling.
  13. Playoff teams have to win games like this, when the opponent's missing their best player. Very impressive. Hopefully this is the Bulls rounding into shape a bit and not just a fluke brought on by other teams' January/February swoons.
  14. The NIT might be optimistic for Notre Dame. That would require finishing above .500 and we're going to be 12-11 after UCLA and Louisville, with still one more auto-loss left at UConn. Harangody had 28 and 14 but he's putting up miserable shooting percentages. Presumably because he knows damn well that a bad shot from him is better than giving any of the other four idiots on the court the basketball. I've never been so annoyed with a team before. There is no excuse for the crap that Notre Dame hoops pulled this year. None.
  15. 27 recruits. When your rankings are comprised solely of total number of points, you can rank high even if you have almost exclusively 3 stars. Also how teams like S Carolina and UNC are top 10 or close. 29 commits. Do they even have enough room for all those players (Alabama signed more than they could take last year, as I recall). Bama signed I think 32 players. So many didn't actually end up going that ND was retroactively named the top class by the major services after the dust settled. I don't know why schools do that, but if they can get away with it...
  16. Te'o is a huge get for Weis. This class is possibly his worst since arriving at ND, but Te'o makes it a bit better.
  17. For all the ink and bandwidth that's been used up about ND's recruitment of him (the leis when he came to the Syracuse game, Weis's special visit), they'd better get him.
  18. I really want to see you guys get one. I don't tend to care one way or another about IU or Purdue but this season is making me like you and dislike them (the reverse of what last year did).
  19. Bite your tongue. Lavin is actually a decent color man. Certainly compared to most.
  20. Well his nose got broke so I'm pretty sure he did get hit and wasn't flopping. I don't know how all of you can say he flopped when his nose got broke. That tends to make people fall to the ground. Harris shouldn't have been booted though. I could see a technical maybe, but not booted. I can't see anything. Harris was doing something every basketball player in the history of mankind has done when facing tough defense and Kramer had his face in the wrong spot. Absolutely ridiculous.
  21. Ok, I just saw the highlight of Harris's elbow. What a flopping little bitch Chris Kramer is.
  22. Ball State improves to 10-9 (5-2) by beating Ohio and takes sole possession of the MAC West division. That also eclipses their win total of either of the last two seasons (9 in 06-07 and 6 last year).
  23. Blair is underrated. Luke normally plays better, but the insane amount of threes we took made him a complete nonfactor until the late going. Notre Dame is just plain not good.
  24. They're not going to make the tournament anyway, but this is abnormal. They hit the first few, so they kept shooting it. If they don't start hot they usually start doing other things, but why not keep shooting it if you're putting it in?
  25. Wow, that'd be a nice leap for Provus. He's ok at play by play, but not great. I'd like to throw my hat in the ring for Cory's job if he leaves.
