  1. This is getting dangerously close to being a likable team again. Albeit one with a horrid coach.

    MLBTV

Yes. The other computers are subject to the blackout restrictions of the area, but all you need's your username and password to watch.
  3. What are the other contenders for worst contract handed out this millennium? Zito and who else? Zito and Pierre are the only two I can remember where basically everyone except for the teams signing them knew the deal would be a complete disaster from the word go.
  4. Tyrus has had a couple of really nice post moves to the bucket tonight. He looks much more polished.
  5. OK I have to do a TV daily update on the sports headlines for the day tonight and need to say who holds the tiebreaker between Western Michigan and Ball State as they have each beaten each other once. This is the what the MAC has ... http://www.mac-sports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=9400&ATCLID=3651224 Anyone care to weigh in on what the F they mean because it is not explained well enough. Andy if you remember what it is from covering them last year then chime in. I'm assuming it means starting at the top ranked team you go down and look at the tied teams record versus that team until one has a better record versus them. However if that is what it means then where do you start? With the third place team in the West or the the overall best team in the MAC which would be the East this year? And No. 3 is just down right shameful. What the heck does that mean. "Sport specific component (if applicable)," is all that No. 3 says. I'm pretty sure record vs the best team across all divisions, so Ball State would have it via their win vs Buffalo. I can't imagine the MAC could make it any less clear though. If you use the women's tiebreakers WMU would be ahead. It is Ball State. The TV guys tonight said that either a BSU win or a WMU loss would clinch the title for us this weekend, and we are tied now, so that means we have the tiebreaker.
  6. Ball State blows their chance to win the MAC West, losing to WMU 84-82 in OT. They were up 6 with a minute left in regulation and gagged it. They can still win the MAC West by beating EMU at home on Sunday. That would give them the division title with an 8-8 MAC record.
  7. the big ten doesn't stand a chance in the tournament. purdue looks terrible on a fairly regular basis... illinois held to 33 at home... purdue dominates michigan state by 19... really... i don't think anyone in the big ten would be in the top 3-4 in the acc or big east... except the Big 10 actually plays defense. Get Duke or North Carolina away from the ACC refs and see how far their flopping gets them the tourney is called more like the big east or acc than the big ten The Big East is called closer to the Big Ten than most Big Ten fans want to admit.
  8. I would agree with this only because the media, especially Jay Bilas and a couple others, are trying to make it out like ND and Georgetown were both tremendous teams that just got the will beat out of them by how good the Big East was. In reality, the Irish and Hoyas were both very flawed teams whose flaws were exposed by good teams in the conference. I think the Big East is probably the best league in the country, even with the horrible four at the bottom (I'm biased, obviously), but it's not even close to the gap that ESPN makes it out to be. (It should be noted that since ESPN has a huge contract with the Big East that it would benefit them to have people THINK the Big East is some mega-league that's head and shoulders above everybody.)
  9. I hate this team. I'd honestly rather be Indiana right now. Notre Dame flat-out quit on this game.
  10. What a horrible first half of ND/Nova. ND looks bad, Nova looks worse, the refs are horrible (albeit largely in our favor)...that just wasn't fun to watch.
  11. The winner of the MAC West will most likely be .500. In conference. Ball State can clinch the least impressive division title in history if they beat Western Michigan on Wednesday, despite a horrible out-of-bounds call costing the Cards the game at NIU yesterday. ETA: I didn't realize just how bad it was. Every team in the MAC West besides Ball State has an RPI of 293 or worse. That is unfathomably horrible.
  12. That rule must be changed. The opposing coach should be able to pick the FT shooter if the other guy gets 'hurt'. Of course, I don't buy for a second that he actually was. I hate that whole team...what a bunch of ninnies. Jeff Adrien is damn good, though.
  13. You Big Ten types can't have Cleveland for a rotating site. The mighty MAC tournament is played there... If the Big East wanted to rotate sites, Philly would be a decent site to throw in though it would help Villanova a lot. But I can't think of any others. Maybe DC, but that'd be insanely unfair to anyone who played Georgetown.
  14. Which is a joke. You should have the tourney in the marquee city of your area. Big East has it in NY, Pac 10 has it in LA, ACC in ATL, we have it in [expletive] Indianapolis because they named a street after each team. We're operating like we're the Missouri Valley. The ACC tournament isn't always in Atlanta. Last year it was in Charlotte. In 2007 it was in Tampa.
  15. ND barely escaped Rutgers 70-65 to stay on the bubble.
  16. Well, that Providence win over Pitt, it's safe to say, is extremely damaging to Notre Dame. Providence was a bubble team at best before, but now they're ahead of ND in the Big East pecking order. And lots of people think there's no way the tourney takes more than 8 Big East teams regardless if more are deserving, lest they screw up the pod system, so this could be bad.
  17. Pathetic defense this quarter.
  18. I'm sure Purdue fans as a whole aren't this bad but Purdue fans at Mackey are just complete morons.
  19. You're also playing Indiana. That helps.
  20. Good win for Notre Dame. Especially without Harangody's usual contribution.
  21. I want to make my annual three-day trip at some point. Would've liked the Cleveland series obviously, but a weekend interleague series isn't the cheapest option.
  22. they've won 7 of 10 and are 1/2 game out of the 8 spot. Plus, they have some easier games coming up And Miller and Salmons joining up soon, too. I'm getting moderately excited, if only because it'll be nice to see us play some games beyond February that matter this year.
  23. This team might just make the playoffs.
  24. The IU football one was funny. And true. Yeah, I thought that was the best part. The handshake one got a laugh out of me too. My dislike for Notre Dame can be directly traced to the pseudo-IU fans that also root for Notre Dame football. I despise those people. You and me both.
