  1. Sucks to be playing against someone on a totally different level than him, I'm guessing. Then again, as the second-best player on his own team he should be used to it. The non-Hansbrough Heels are off to a good start though. yeah griffin is really showing him who's boss, look at this ass kicking Because that matchup is the reason. As it turns out, Hansbrough is neither guarding nor being guarded by Griffin. I'm not pleased with that. I'm going to kill Howie Long.

  3. For being the regular season and tournament champ of what was pretty much considered the best league in the country - with the tournament seemingly bearing that out - I've never thought a lot of Louisville. They can be a nightmare to play against, but they also seem to have a lot more weaknesses than other top-flight Big East teams. MSU/UConn will be a tremendous matchup.
  4. Can still finish in the money if Oklahoma wins tonight and Villanova beats MSU for the title. Not bloody likely.
  5. I would've been a lot happier if this had happened before my bracket imploded yesterday.
  6. Me too, because I'm excited to watch Hansbrough just get crushed into oblivion.
  7. Well, my bracket's dead. Might as well root for Louisville to make it three Big East teams in the Final Four tomorrow.
  8. Wow, no defense at all.
  9. Come on Fields. Got a gift, need to take advantage.
  10. This game is insane.
  11. If Pitt and MSU make the title game, I'll probably win some money (even if Pitt doesn't win), but I just have a really hard time seeing MSU beat Louisville and UConn back to back.
  12. Color me jealous. You guys had a great run. There's very little more satisfying as a sports fan than seeing your team with little expectation have a great season.
  13. I'm thinking back to all those possessions in the first half where Missouri's press left Adrien wide open for easy deuces. A few of those are better defended and maybe this game would've ended differently. I really loathe UConn.
  14. If that ridiculous shot by Walker decides the game I'm going to punch something.
  15. Missouri's missed freebies are killing me right now.
  16. This game is really really fun, even though Bilas is all over Thabeet, never mind that the best thing that can happen to Mizzou is Thabeet seeing the ball on offense.
  17. 7/8 Elite 8 teams (my only major upset beyond the first round was Washington over UConn, oops), but I'm nervous as hell about Mizzou and Pitt tomorrow.
  18. Haha, Meeks takes THREE SHOTS in the first half in South Bend and gets benched but he's called selfish other times? This guy's a complete nutcase.
  19. Well, this session was a total dud. I'd bet any amount of money on the Kansas/MSU and UNC/Zags games being good since I work during them.
  20. I really like three: Jim, Andy and Creed. I went with Andy.
  21. There's really no way we are going to beat any of the top 3 seeds in the East, so hypothetically, it doesn't matter which of the 6-8 seeds we end up with. Still nice to see the Bulls playing really well.
  22. I was going to make a short post observing the cool fact that the Big East is almost certainly going to have half the Elite 8 - maybe 5, but I don't like Cuse's odds against the Griffin's - but loukycub took care of that for me. Purdue's game plan was horrible. It's like they bought all the ridiculous Thabeet hype. If they'd actually gone after him, they might've had a shot. But the only times I saw a ball go near Thabeet were when Purdue players were seemingly handing him blocks by putting up soft layups. I don't recall more than 4 or 5 times that JaJuan Johnson touched the ball. Since I have Mizzou in the Final 4, it'd be really nice if they didn't display the lack of fortitude in that area on Saturday.
  23. PSU likes to run, and they like to shoot 3's. Cornley is the only consistent inside scorer, and he's only 6'5" (but has a nice hook shot). They may need to pull a "hack-a-Shaq" on Harongondy while guarding the perimeter and hoping for the best. If ND can't defend the 3, they may be in trouble, as the Nittany Lions have 3 or 4 guys with NBA range from beyond the arc. Hack-a-Harangody isn't such a good idea as Luke shoots FT's pretty well, close to 80 percent I believe. ND is long enough to defend the 3 and does a pretty good job with it sometimes - Jodie Meeks didn't get an open look until the last half of the second half tonight - but they're inconsistent defensively. PSU's lack of size will be a big help, ND's biggest weakness is post defense, as Luke's too short to guard most big men and we don't have anyone else big that's worth a crap on defense.
  24. No reason at all for Pitino to leave Louisville for Arizona. It's probably a slight jump on the totem pole (depending on how good a coach you think Denny Crum was), but a step down in exposure and conference quality. Then again, he sometimes jokes that the reason he went to Louisville was because they were in C-USA at the time...
  25. I hope Brey makes a play for Seth Curry. He tends to have good luck getting transfers if he wants them (Dan Miller, Dennis Latimore, Hansbrough, Martin).
