  1. I lack any seeds below 6 (WVU) in the Sweet 16 and any seeds below 4 (Washington) in the Elite 8. This unnerves me. I picked one 12 and 11 apiece (Arizona and Temple).
  2. If the Netherlands made a run, Matt Lindstrom was on his way to being deported.
  3. Exactly. No one is going to go to this game. It's going to be embarrassing. No one wants to go watch a group of ridiculous underachievers bow out against one of Memphis's C-USA punching bags. I'm going to be at work so I won't even be watching. I can't even describe my level of dumbfoundedness over that blog rant, as if the NIT means even one tiny little thing.
  4. I have Nova in the Elite 8 and thought harder about having them knock off Pitt (my champ) than any other matchup for the Panthers.
  5. A) The NIT is not a meritocracy. B) You can have our 2 seed and play UAB, ranked 42nd by Pomeroy, and we'll play Tulsa, ranked 58th. (Again. Not a meritocracy.)
  6. Usually later tonight. Does anyone have a link for what site each set of games is played at? The bracket on NCAA.com has the site next to each pod.
  7. Cue the "this looks like a real Marlins game" joke. Not a ton of people there. Brian Roberts taking Chipper Jones's spot on the roster.
  8. Here is an NIT bracket projection: Link
  9. Notre Dame played six games against the four #1 seeds (playing all four), plus 2 against 3 seeds. Even with everything else that went wrong, they might have been close to the bubble if Mike Brey could game the system correctly and play a bunch of 170 RPI teams in nonleague play instead of the 250 or worse that we routinely do.
  10. We'll find out shortly, but I'd bet anything on one of the showcase teams going to Greensboro. Gus Johnson will probably end up in Portland, where there are two 5/12 and 4/13 games each, hence more potential for upsets.
  11. The selection show is at 9 on ESPNU.
  12. You're off your rocker. Not in a second did I think that would happen, but I went pick by pick and that's what came up.
  13. Final Four: MSU, Missouri, Pitt, Oklahoma Title game: Pitt over MSU
  14. they have better players, no doubt. but i think weber is better than howland. I'm not on board with that at all. and you can have your opinion. both are better than brey, though. Thanks for the cheap shot, like our absence from the dance doesn't speak enough to that.

  16. UNC is in good shape for a Final 4 bid. I don't think they'll have to play Oklahoma, either.
  17. St. Mary's left out.
  18. I'm happy for Michigan. That's not a bad draw for them either.
  19. The Big Ten is getting the total screw. I think it's funny because I dislike the Big Ten, but it's really really bad. Purdue in Portland, MSU a tough 7/10 draw, and Minnesota and Wisco underseeded.
  20. Nova at home for the first 2 rounds. No way I don't pick them to make it out. Pitt has a really easy run.
  21. Mizzou got sent to Boise as a 3, that hurts. Marquette/Mizzou is going to be a really good game.
  22. That West will be really tough to pick. Maryland/Memphis is hard to think.
  23. Yeah, Louisville, MSU, Kansas, WVU, Wake is a nice group. There are some legitimately frisky teams in this bunch, to boot. Definitely. Dayton, Siena, OSU (at home).
  24. Yeah, Louisville, MSU, Kansas, WVU, Wake is a nice group.
  25. Haha, OSU in Dayton as an 8 seed, that's a joke
