  1. Yes, I know. Semantics. Whatever. And you don't have to tell me about the non-con schedule. You can look through this thread and probably find at least 10 posts containing my moaning about it. It drives me nuts. Thankfully it won't keep the Irish out.
  2. And it would be 3 times in 7 years. And the reason it happens is because ND never schedules anybody out of conference and still manages to lose a game to some horrible team in noncon every year. (In '05 and this year they added Rutgers losses in conference for good measure) Shh!!! Let him think that the world is out to get poor ND. Yes, that is what I said. I presented factual evidence. (6 years, not 7. 03-04 to 09-10 is 6 calendar years. Semantics, I guess.) What you draw from it is your own business. ND basketball has been good for 1 month in the last 2 years and I'm already managing to piss people off. God forbid the football team ever stop sucking, I guess.
  3. I could have easily seen Notre Dame missing the field if they had lost that game. Me too, because I'm sure it would've been a nice historical boon to be the first team in the 64-team era to be left out after posting winning power-conference records 3 times within 6 years. But no matter. With losses to Loyola Marymount, Northwestern, Rutgers, Cincinnati and St. John's. They have an elite offense. But their defense is the 176th most efficient according to Pomeroy. I'd love to see what Pomeroy has ND's defense rated as the last 5 games, because that team is a hell of a lot different than the one that started the year or even the one that was playing a month ago.
  4. I could have easily seen Notre Dame missing the field if they had lost that game. Me too, because I'm sure it would've been a nice historical boon to be the first team in the 64-team era to be left out after posting winning power-conference records 3 times within 6 years. But no matter.
  5. Now THAT was nice. 20 and 10 for Gody in just 25 minutes, staying within the offense, the entire team handling Seton Hall's press pretty well. Now we have a quarterfinal draw against a team we blitzed two weeks ago. I wonder if Doug Gottlieb still thinks we are on the bubble.
  6. I didn't say Hendry wasn't necessarily a good guy. But it would be very easy for him to simply say he is done talking about Milton Bradley as he is not relevant to the current Cubs team anymore and that he wouldn't answer any further questions about it. And he's not only not doing it, he's keeping Bradley in the headlines by responding to every mindless accusation Bradley is throwing at him. Milton can't help that he's insane. Hendry can help whether he talks about it.
  7. Marquette's off the bubble now for sure, but barely. Geez.
  8. I don't know why Marquette's even being mentioned near the bubble in the first place (they're a lock), but this kind of performance isn't helping them.
  9. jim hendry could also help things out by shutting the [expletive] up. why can't he say "the milton bradley chapter is closed and he's no longer a member of the organization; i don't see any reason to respond to his latest charges." This. I'm sick and damn tired of hearing Hendry blab. Of course, he has a vested interest - the more he pisses and moans about Bradley, the less attention gets put on his underachieving, overpaid team.
  10. Browns now exploring a possible Brady Quinn trade according to Adam Schefter. Looks like they want to blow it up and start over.
  11. Yeah, I'm not quite getting the Duke hate. If they win their 1st round game, I think they're a 1. They're legit, but the beatdown Georgetown gave them sticks in my mind and the lack of top teams in the ACC hurts their perception.
  12. I think if they had beaten WVU, they would have a much better chance. I wouldn't give them one at this point unless they won the Big 10 tournament and some other teams lost. I think the last #1 comes down to which of Duke/WVU wins their conference tournament. I think WVU should get it unless Duke wins their tournament and WVU doesn't make it to the final of the Big East (I think both those things will happen and Duke will get the last #1).
  13. So regarding these lists we're supposed to send in, do the 34 at-large teams we are sending in not include the locks, who we now assume are in the field?
  14. Wouldn't Be Suprised to see him on the Seahawks That would be a good move by either the Seahawks or the Rams. He's shown potential and could be at least a stop gap/backup type guy if nothing else. Rumors are that Carolina may get him since our offensive coordinator used to work with him in Cleveland, which I can accept if given the assurance that he will never, ever, ever start a game, ever, unless we've clinched a 1 seed or something.
  15. It's the NCAA's goal to ruin the best thing in sports. Who the hell is Jennifer Hudson? Jennifer Hudson is an American Idol I think, which makes this about 25 percent more ridiculous and stupid.
  16. Do I take this to mean that you don't have the Hall in if they beat ND tomorrow? Because I don't know if I would, either.
  17. Bilas was outstandingly candid. I love when he gets like that. Just one reason he's the best in college hoops.
  18. Here's hoping Jeremy Hazell doesn't save a ridiculous Keyser Sozian performance for Notre Dame like they did last month.
  19. A day after trading for Seneca Wallace, the Browns cut Derek Anderson.
  20. Cause they are not playing the Red Sox in football. I just assumed the bowl committee was only going to pick teams in red or navy uniforms. ESPN decided to put the Capital One Bowl (ABC), Outback Bowl (ESPN), and Gator Bowl (ESPN2) all on at the same time on New Years Day, meaning there will be 3 Big Ten bowl games competing against one another for viewers. An odd decision. Not just 3 Big Ten bowls but 3 Big Ten vs SEC bowls. I think it kind of sucks that the Capital One Bowl is going to be on network TV but none of the BCS bowls will be.
  21. 8-12 in the Big East was going to get them in? I think they had to get to the final to have a legit shot.
  22. Good lord, UConn sucks.
  23. Notre Dame's dumbing down of the football schedule in recent years, the asinine 7-4-1 format, and everything else has some fans actually believing that ND is conspiring to make conference membership not seem so bad or seem inevitable (even though it's not - ND could be playing good schedules year in year out if they wanted to). It seems far-fetched but everything they've done recently - especially these 'statements' - is creepy.
  24. Wow, that's pretty phenomenal. Is that a one-time gig or will it continue in future years? probably a one time thing, but they're really good at rewarding customer loyalty. Hmm. If I ever manage to get a big-boy job and have a long-term home I'll have to look into that. In other news, Doug Gottlieb just sounded completely incoherent trying to bash the Big East, saying none of them have good out of conference wins (apparently G'Town's clubbing of Duke and win over Butler, WVU's win over Ohio State, Marquette's win over Xavier, etc. never happened).
  25. I have no idea what that team is doing right now.
