  1. Wade hasn't been very convincing, even less so than LeBron, that he's staying.
  2. The Bulls are still a better spot then NY, imo. Hopefully a big-time FA agrees with you.
  3. Why would you want a shot at Boston. It's not catharsis, if they just beat you all over again. Troll all you want, I don't care, just want to see you in April.
  4. I want a piece of Boston, bad. If the Bulls can beat any of their possible 1st round opponents, Boston would be it. That being said, I'm 100 percent in favor of the trades today and if they make us miss the playoffs, so be it. I don't think they will, though.
  5. Salmons and Tyrus aren't garbage players, but if they're really good enough to carry Milwaukee and Charlotte over us then we weren't deserving of a playoff bid to begin with.
  6. Ty Thomas now headed for Charlotte for Acie Law, Flip Murray (both expiring contracts), and a first-round pick.
  7. What are the contract situations of those players?
  8. I blew off the Louisville game to watch Ball State because I knew that ND would either get run out of the gym or lose a heartbreaker. Notre Dame sports: finding ways to lose in my entire conscious lifetime. I'm reading a lot about how we got screwed by officiating, but having not seen the game I won't comment. Ball State beat Central 69-63 despite surrendering an 18-0 second-half run. The magic number is 2 to clinch the division and lock up a #2 seed in the MAC tournament.
  9. Should've gotten a goal out of that flurry of shots early on.
  10. Kevin Millar is all sorts of chunky.
  11. It seemed more exciting in Turin.
  12. As for my vote, I'm not really Big Ten savvy so I will abstain, though I agree with the consensus that on their face IU seems to bring the least to the league.
  13. Dick Rod is merely 2 years into his plan of turning Michigan into Further West Virginia, only with fewer wins. He's already got a football recruit who robbed 3 houses signed up. I'd say things are going swimmingly. Hey, not one person he's signed on that football team has a felony conviction. :)
  14. Is anybody here talking about Michigan, Minnesota or Iowa? No, because they aren't very good and aren't located in the Chicagoland area. If a cabal of fans means about four then OK. But It's not like we're crawling out of the woodwork here. The Purdue hate from Illini fans, or fans of pretenders like ND or BSU is very similar to White Sox fans hate for the Cubs. Did my team win today? Nope. Oh well, Purdue still sucks. Classy. In all honesty, this season has turned me around on the (we'll call it aggressive) Purdue defense. Sure as hell better than playing absolutely no defense at all like my squad and giving up 50 percent long-range nights to St. John's and Seton Hall every [expletive] game.
  15. At least the Ball State game could be fun. Haha. It better be. Certainly no reason to watch ND/Louisville occurring at the same time.
  16. That has to be murder on your knees. The run by Bilodeau was insane. Glad to see Canada get that gold.
  17. St John's 69 ND 68. Winning margin came on a jacked up contested 3. 10/20 from 3 for St. John's. Horrible last possession for ND. I'm about [expletive] done.
  18. Red Storm now 9/18 from 3. 239th in the country. Probably a little of both horrid defense and, for the 2nd straight game, dumb luck that the other team is so on fire.
  19. Wow, this team is going to [expletive] suck next year without Luke. Embarrassing.
  20. LOL all St. John's does at the end of the half is dribble around for 30 seconds and they get an open jumper. What I wouldn't give for a team that plays Purdue's foul-every-time-and-dare-the-refs-to-whistle-it D once in a while. We're well on our way to losing out.
  21. St. John's ranks 239th in Division I in 3-point percentage, at 31.7 percent. Currently they are 6/8 from long range.
  22. I'm assuming your comment was sarcastic Derwood, but the 04-05 team averaged 39.2% from three as a team. That's almost 5% above the NCAA average for the 04-05 season. That [expletive] only happens to Sulley's teams
  23. Who exactly doesn't 'chuck' according to this definition?
  24. And Billy Taylor will be hired away after this season. This is why my rooting for BSU is half-hearted. The first real successful season we have Taylor is gone. If he stays one more season maybe he will replace Brey if ND falls apart with out Harangody. I doubt Taylor gets hired away after a barely-above-.500 season in year 3. It would take some sustained success including NCAA berths, which we are still a good distance away from if Kent's destruction of us last week is evidence. He won't get a great job but remember how crappy the MAC pays coaches. Going to a struggling big school or a good small conference school will give him a good sized raise. As far as the sustained success I don't think you have to have that great of success to get hired away especially when you consider the very publicized circumstances Taylor took the program over in. If they win the MAC West title this year that will make it 2 in row and this year it will have been in a respectable form. I think that is more than enough (especially considering his success at Lehigh too) to get him a struggling Big East school offer. As far as ND is concerned I think if he stays one more year and again wins the MAC West he could get that job since he is an alum. However, that is a big if as is Brey getting booted. I want Brey booted and Fran McCaffery to replace him, but that's not going to happen. I think if Taylor really puts it together next year and has a great season (possible since I believe only 2 regular players will be out of eligibility after this year) he will get an offer, and if he does I'd be fine with it being from Notre Dame.
  25. I especially liked that the Koreans knocked each other out as opposed to skaters from different countries getting tangled up.For no real reason I always get mildly annoyed when I see the replay of Ohno getting taken out in 02, just because the Korean who fell into him seemed to stick his arm out to knock him down. I'm sure it was unintentional, but the Olympics are all about irrational homerism.
