  1. I've got reporter stuff to do tonight so I'll only get to see USC/Hawaii and probably watch the ESPN3 replay of the Ball State game. Still beats the crap out of most any other day.
  2. Dez Bryant got an entire season just for lying about eating dinner with Deion Sanders, which wasn't even a violation
  3. Is that seriously the rule? That's ridiculous. Why would a college athlete (or anyone) sign autographs for someone else's profit without receiving anything himself?
  4. I have 3 teams so far (will have 5 - several different groups of friends have long-term leagues), but this is my favorite. 14-team auction league ($200 budget), each year you can keep 3 players if you had them on your roster the entire prior season (1 for 2 years, 2 for 1), but they must remain on your roster through the duration of the keeper (or be traded). QB - Matt Stafford (2nd year of 2-year keeper - $16) RB - C.J. Spiller (1st year of 2-year keeper - $11) RB - David Wilson ($26) WR - Victor Cruz ($32) WR - Antonio Brown (2nd year of 2-year keeper - $1) traded Fred Jackson for him this week TE - Greg Olsen ($8 or $9, I forget) Flex - Hakeem Nicks ($22) Flex - Dwayne Bowe (1-year keeper - $22) Bench - TY Hilton ($14 I think) Bench - Tavon Austin ($19) Bench - Dwayne Allen ($4) Bench - Jay Cutler ($3) Bench - Bryce Brown ($4) K - Matt Bryant ($3) DEF - Houston ($5) The only place I feel a little weak is RB, but all the RBs were going for such ridiculously high prices (see David Wilson) that I decided to load up on WRs instead.
  5. Least shocking 'shocking' news in a while if true
  6. Very nice and all, but breaking tackles doesn't really help you play cornerback
  7. I'll take the under We couldn't score off Chris Capuano and Stephen Fife, why would we score off their studs?
  8. Depends whether you're speaking literally
  9. Castro's helmet looks like he rescued it from a fire.
  10. Times in that period his xFIP has been as better than his actual ERA: 4. One of these years now, he'll get that bad luck out of his system (the two years before that were the only two in his career, aside from his 22 inning first season, where his ERA was better than xFIP. Same with FIP Yeah, I check on the FIP and stuff like any 'smart' baseball fan is supposed to do, but when you consistently underperform your FIP, you're not as good as FIP says you are anymore.
  11. To attempt to be fair, this is not the only place I've seen speculation that the NCAA has dropped the Manziel probe.
  12. I know you're a Purdue guy, but any talk of last night's game that doesn't include Luke Kuechly is pointless. That guy's an absolute monster. Directly forced 2 turnovers and basically forced another.
  13. Remember when we were all excited for Jake Arrieta?
  14. Beaten by the Cards again. LOL that ESPN didn't rank any hockey uni's. They're doing that tomorrow. Rolling out one major pro sports league per day.
  15. Our BABIP of late has to be absurdly bad.
  16. The irony of CubinNY hating people with their heads up their own ass is my favorite thing of the day.
  17. Hood releases a statement saying the decommitment is all about family. At least this one didn't sign before they realized how far away from home they'd be going, I guess.
  18. Maybe a few of those Alabama letters he flushed came back.
  19. Pretty sure Aram got a standing O in his return. Z was a jackass so whatever. Sosa would probably get a positive response overall...it'd be mixed, but I'm not really sure how much. Aramis definitely was cheered when he came back.
  20. I really like Len, but he either hedges his HR calls or is really bad at identifying home runs off the bat. Well, I meant that he said "Hit a homer, Dioner" a few pitches beforehand. I can take or leave Len's inability to recognize homers, but I prefer it to Pat Hughes and Chip Caray's inability to recognize when a ball is NOT a homer.
  21. As I said earlier, the locals know this is a crap sandwich schedule, and will accept nothing less than 12-0 because of it. But whose schedule is a bigger crap sandwich, OSU or Bama? Bama has TWO FCS schools, plus they don't play Florida, S. Carolina or Georgia. Oh, and they have LSU at home OSU's is still crappier, though the margin isn't as much as the ESS-EE-SEE mouthbreathers are going to claim it is.
