  1. Alabama backs out of Michigan State series in 2016-17 because of 'uncertainty in the SEC schedule' according to the Detroit Free Press. Looks like a 9-game league slate is all but confirmed. Meanwhile, Bama is apparently in talks to play a "big name" school in a neutral site game in 2016 to replace MSU.
  2. Hopefully UCF competes with South Carolina, because there's not much else of note going on in the early games.
  3. Carolina used to split him out wide sometimes in the red zone, though I don't think he ever actually caught a pass.
  4. Last year's OU game feels like a million years ago.
  5. Carolina's running read-options, QB draws, and all sorts of other stuff they didn't run the first 2 weeks. And they have 31 points. Maybe stick with that.
  6. Nobody pays you to think, eh? Actually, he's right. Len has said that before on game broadcasts.

  8. Umm why was Vandy playing a game at an FCS school? It was played in Foxboro at Gillette, but I'm not quite sure. Both are big academic schools, maybe there's more to that relationship. UMass is an FBS school, they're in the MAC. Dunno why they played them on the road though (Gillette is UMass's home stadium)
  9. That whole 'you can't review out-of-bounds outside the 5-yard line' thing is absolutely terrible. Would've been interested to see if NC State could keep it up had that TD run been reviewed and overturned. But they fumbled the ball to Clemson a few plays later and the Tigers scored on the ensuing drive, so that was the end of that.
  10. Strike that, reverse it. Also, I'm not a die-hard NFL fan so I may have missed the boat, but I certainly never got the "Chip Kelly is gonna put up fifty a game on the NFL, take it to the bank" consensus that seems to be the source of the backlash here. Was this an actual thing or is it a "They won't stop doing Chip Kelly features on SportsCenter" thing? The latter, I think.
  11. Dude is a monster.
  12. Heisman count Ingram: 1 Richardson: 0 I just...wow.
  13. He's clearly broken. We should send them Castro for him so they can have another talented SS they can neglect. Well done.
  14. http://static.foxsports.com/content/fscom/img/2010/09/08/090810-CFB-Alabama-Mark-Ingram-PI_20100908123959_660_320.JPG Putting up a photo of the RB Richardson outperformed during his Bama career (and who wasn't on the team when Richardson had his excellent 2011 season) tells us nothing
  15. Vegas should post odds on which Giants' player scores the game-winning touchdown this week late in the fourth quarter. Brandon Myers might be a nice long-shot bet.
  16. Greg Anthony and Clark Kellogg are apparently switching roles at CBS Sports for college b-ball, with Anthony as game analyst and Kellogg in the studio. I am ready to be proven wrong, but I don't like that move. I've enjoyed Kellogg's work as a color guy.
  17. no kidding. pretty dumb thing to debate. Especially a division win, and double-especially a division win on the road. Tampa sucks, but 2-0, both divisional games, is a ginormous way to start the season.
  18. I love watching big Seattle home games.
  19. It seems to me like someone who wants to see more interesting football games. If Notre Dame fans are the only ones annoyed by pathetic slates of CFB like this one in September, so be it. Derwood's post just above this one is an example of what MR means. 1990 is ancient history in sports, but good (or at least relevant) teams playing each other didn't used to be so uncommon.
  20. The two Tampa/Carolina games would go 15 OTs if there weren't ties in place. Just a pair of pathetically tight-assed teams with coaches too gutless to go for the win when they have the chance.
  21. So, all the teams? I've never understood this argument. What's not to understand?
  22. The Bill Barnwells of the world that claim that the "record in games decided by 7 pts or less" stat evens out over time are full of [expletive] and have never watched a Rivera-led Panthers' team. They should fire him today

  24. Purdue is godawful. This was a terrible showing by Notre Dame.
