USF was up 7-2 after one quarter. 40-14 now. Barring a miracle, 2 AAC teams will have lost to FCS schools in week 1.

You posted in the College Football thread 4 minutes after making this post. about ugly girls from vanderbilt. i could name two active college football players: manziel and clowney (sp?) admittedly, i used to be pretty into college basketball and college football, but as i have aged and grown wiser, i have come to see the error of my ways. the ncaa is a pathetic organization and the major revenue sports in college are a sham. i mean, you're watching unpaid athletes earn millions of dollars for their employers, under the auspices that they're also getting an education. when in reality like half of them can barely even read. The 'half of them can barely even read' part is the fault of the schools who could give a [expletive] about educating their players, not the sport in general.

The latter part of this statement is complete lunacy. Thousands and thousands of high schools play football and 125 FBS teams do. By sheer numbers, the gap between high school and college is far wider than the gap between college and the pros.

AGREED You guys hate America. I like hockey, but college football is untouchable. I'll like it a lot more when they use the playoff system and not just select which two one loss teams get to play for the title every year. I'd like the playoff idea a lot more if I didn't know it were going to expand to 8 and inevitably result in some random 2-loss team sneaking in, somehow getting hot and winning the thing some year. We have enough of that kind of crap in every other major sport besides the NBA.

Is that seriously the rule? That's ridiculous. Why would a college athlete (or anyone) sign autographs for someone else's profit without receiving anything himself?

I have 3 teams so far (will have 5 - several different groups of friends have long-term leagues), but this is my favorite. 14-team auction league ($200 budget), each year you can keep 3 players if you had them on your roster the entire prior season (1 for 2 years, 2 for 1), but they must remain on your roster through the duration of the keeper (or be traded). QB - Matt Stafford (2nd year of 2-year keeper - $16) RB - C.J. Spiller (1st year of 2-year keeper - $11) RB - David Wilson ($26) WR - Victor Cruz ($32) WR - Antonio Brown (2nd year of 2-year keeper - $1) traded Fred Jackson for him this week TE - Greg Olsen ($8 or $9, I forget) Flex - Hakeem Nicks ($22) Flex - Dwayne Bowe (1-year keeper - $22) Bench - TY Hilton ($14 I think) Bench - Tavon Austin ($19) Bench - Dwayne Allen ($4) Bench - Jay Cutler ($3) Bench - Bryce Brown ($4) K - Matt Bryant ($3) DEF - Houston ($5) The only place I feel a little weak is RB, but all the RBs were going for such ridiculously high prices (see David Wilson) that I decided to load up on WRs instead.
