  1. Just because your backups are putrid doesn't mean you should be a Heisman finalist. He wasn't even the best defensive player in college football last year. I didn't say he was the best. (But you'd better not mean Jarvis 'my team gave up 100 more rushing yards to Bama than Notre Dame did' Jones) Heisman finalists should probably be the best players in the country. I was referring to Jadeveon Clowney, of course. Oh. My mistake. I'm a few beers in and wasn't thinking about him.
  2. Can't imagine why ND wouldn't want to come back to this [expletive] hell-hole

  4. Horrific PI call. Gallon doesn't get flagged if he's doing that
  5. For all the jokes about Kekua and Alabama, you're seeing tonight why Manti Te'o was a Heisman finalist. This D (and particularly the LB crew) is lost
  6. I need more beer. This defense is awful.
  7. Wild, but I suppose kind of neat. Will certainly take some getting used to visually
  8. Yes. BTN is 610 and all the alternate feeds are directly below it, all in HD I'm not sure about every game but certainly most of them They have 4 alternate feed channels listed under 610, so I have to think that's more than they usually need. The max games I've ever seen on BTN at once is 4.
  9. That stupid option call is going to cost the Gamecocks the game. Why not at least line Shaw up on the line?
  10. I want to make an "SEC defense" joke, but damn if Gurley and Connor Shaw aren't just playing a damn good half of football. 24-all between the hedges at halftime.
  11. Todd Gurley looks pretty [expletive] impressive. And Clemson is looking good by proxy.
  12. Yes. BTN is 610 and all the alternate feeds are directly below it, all in HD
  13. Nearly half the games FBS teams are playing this week IIRC.
  14. And TT has won the day.
  15. For Chicago - Walter Payton MJ Ernie Banks for the Cubs - not sure who for the White Sox. Frank Thomas? Don't know the Blackhawks' history very well so someone else can chime in there. Bobby Hull? Esposito?
  16. I'm reasonably sure it's never happened, mostly because I think the NBA opened a little later than the last week in October until relatively recently. And the World Series running into late October is also a relatively recent thing (wild-card era, maybe a little further back)
  17. Definitely play Williams. I'm not crazy about McFadden or Tate, but I'd probably go Tate since the Raiders will probably be behind by 20 by halftime.
  18. To refer back to UMF's prior post on national-TV limits, I think a few teams each year (I want to say 3) can go up to 6 times on national TV, and the rest of the league is capped at 5. And of course with 16 Thursday games now, everyone plays on national TV at least once.
  19. I was gonna say, I thought he just pitched against us as a Padre He did, and it was his last game - they DFA'd him the next day
  20. USF is +23.5 or something against Michigan St. That seems like free money. There's no way USF is THAT bad, and Michigan State is hard-pressed to reach 30 points against anyone.

  22. http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/764/lillymolina.gif God I miss those 2007-2008 teams so much. 2008 is the best sports team I've ever followed day to day. They probably always will be, even if another wins a championship.
  23. Great win for Clemson. Two more big ones left for them (3 assuming they make the ACC title game).
  24. UNI over Iowa State and Eastern Illinois creaming San Diego State. Maybe relegation isn't such a bad idea.
  25. Down 7-0 to New Mexico State, late 2nd. But at least most of their fans can't watch.
