  1. It's eerie how confident I am that we would brain them into oblivion if we get there.
  2. what'd he do? IBB'd Alvarez the batter before, but I don't know if that's what he's talking about.
  3. Wanted someone to sweep this series one way or another (PIT to push STL or STL to help us catch PIT). Gonna be annoying if neither team does.
  4. It's possible, but you have to hit the absolute [expletive] out of one and avoid the board. I don't think anyone did it this season - maybe once. Can't remember for sure
  5. Alright STL time to help us for the first time in your pathetic franchise's existence and sweep Pittsburgh
  6. Rob, that is so outstanding. We will never see a run like this again. Worth appreciating.
  7. Friend of mine got 4 bleacher tickets to hypothetical Game 4 and offered to sell me one. Work obligations make it impossible. Jobs are dumb.
  8. I don't know if I could be friends with a Cardinal fan. It might be a litmus test for me. He'd have to have a great personality. Personality goes a long way. He'd have to be one charming mother [expletive] Cardinal's fan. I mean he'd have to be 10 times more charming Jon Hamm. Living in the middle of the state, it's tough...it's a really even split of Cubs/Cards fans. My in-laws are Cardinal fans too. Not a big problem with the Father and Mother in law, but my brother in law...he gets mouthy. I'm only friends with one (mostly coincidence, I haven't run into many). and he's pretty good-humored and, thankfully, can actually trade barbs with me and other Cubs friends of mine without resorting to 1908 garbage.
  9. I've had Karlos Williams on my bench the last 2 weeks and he's outscored my #2 running back both weeks. I look forward to the Bills immediately riding McCoy next week when I start Williams.
  10. Well, I guess we could still catch the Pirates if STL sweeps them and we get on a run.
  11. Yeah I'm on board with this thought.

    NFL Week 3

Next week Carolina faces Jameis Winston, who will actually be easily the best quarterback they have faced so far. This season has been weird.
  13. Can't win the NLDS without winning the wild-card game, and I think Pittsburgh is a better team than STL. Hence, I vote for STL here. Beat them, take your chances in the NLDS. Funny stuff can happen in a short series. That said it probably doesn't make a ton of difference. I would like to see the division race come down to the end, though.

    NFL Week 3

I'm not watching but evidently he looks like a college 3rd stringer today. Not sure what happened to him in the off-season.
  16. I vote bullpen day in Game 2 of NLDS. Hammel can be part of it, but he can't go 6 strong.
  17. If you're not in the Cubs territory for this game it is still on MLB.TV.
  18. We're going to have more champagne celebrations
  19. This whole striking out every [expletive] time we need someone to make contact us going to kill me.
  20. I mean, I wouldn't say no to STL blowing the division, but I've sort of done a 180 here - seems like our long-series chances are better against STL than against Pittsburgh especially if Arrieta's unvailable for the first 3 games of a Pittsburgh series.
  21. Man, what a crazy team these Cubs are, 86 comeback wins and 55 blown 9th-inning leads!
  22. I think if they lose tomorrow too it's a legitimate question worth discussing, but they can pull within 2 in the loss column with 2 wins.
  23. The Cubs lose today, win the next two plus the make up game, its 2 games. Pirates are in St Louis next week But do the Cards have anything to play for at that point or are they basically an expansion team for those games? They might only be 3 games up on the Pirates by the end of today, they'll want to make extra sure to win at least one to ensure they can hold off Pittsburgh themselves. If we win the next two, though, as Brian mentioned, STL will probably be up more than 3.
  24. The Cubs lose today, win the next two plus the make up game, its 2 games. Pirates are in St Louis next week But do the Cards have anything to play for at that point or are they basically an expansion team for those games? They wouldn't have much to play for, but it's not like playing backups has stopped STL from winning a bunch of games to this point.
