  1. Yup, this is where the Big 12 canabilizes itself so that no one makes the playoffs, while a 2 loss Michigan team wins the Big Ten and claims the 4th spot  Absolute chaos would have to reign, but UM could still get in. I think Michigan will win out (and hopefully open up a playoff spot for ND in the process) so that MSU loss might end up stinging even more.
  2. Bump since this is the actual thread for this week so it doesn't get lost.
  3. There was an SB Nation article a while back, and I swear I'd link it if I could find it, that said Alabama played like the 2nd-best single game by several advanced stats in the last 25 years against Notre Dame. That game was far more about Bama than anything else, but as usual no one cared about that when there was an opportunity to call an ND team fraudulent - never mind that Bama basically did the exact same thing to LSU a year prior and no one was calling the Tigers a fraud then. I'm not even all that high on this ND team - I think they're very good, not sure about great - but talking 'eye test' about them is ludicrous. No one was talking 'eye test' when Bama had to score in the final 2 minutes to beat [expletive] Tennessee.
  4. And, if they were to finish 11-1, would possess wins over #10, #14 & #17 in the S&P+ rankings while having played #1 to essentially standstill on the road despite innumerable fumbles and dropped passes in a hurricane. (They themselves are currently #6 in S&P+)
  5. Other than the fact that they score like 35 points per game, have only really "escaped" twice (once after their QB broke his ankle during the game), and are more talented pretty much across the board than that team was, yeah, exactly the same.
  6. Definitely Hurns if he plays.
  7. Who has the 30 seconds button? DirecTV remote does. I assume it's not the only one
  8. The 30 seconds button is a godsend. I generally go 8x on that then just jump back when I see the show is back
  9. I didn't even realize this, but this was actually true in 2 different leagues heading into this week, although it wasn't a 'far and away' situation in both.

  11. 27-7 Panthers at the half and GB is lucky it isn't 34-7. What in the world is going on
  12. Yes, and no. I still had to manually alter a quote yesterday to post it right. Otherwise, it's a much-improved update though. Looks like quoting works.
  13. I don't think it will happen, but Utah is lurking. If they win out I don't see how they get left out.
  14. I think Michigan beats Ohio State. That would likely open up a playoff spot, so that'd be cool with me.
  15. And if Alabama were to lose, it'd be the same thing. They would have ZERO wins over ranked teams provided A&M loses. The loser of this game should be out either way
  16. I don't even mind if Alabama or some other SEC team gets in. But LSU has one win over a ranked team and probably won't get another since A&M is currently getting pantsed by Auburn. I don't want them hanging around closely enough to convince some mouth breathers that they should be in anyway.
  17. If Alabama is going to do this, they'd better just kick LSU's ass. If they screw around and let LSU lose close so we hear about how LSU deserves to be in the playoff with 1 good win on their resume, I'm going to lose it
  18. It was sarcasm by SSR
  19. Really want Clemson to win. For ND's sake they need to either lose 0 times or 2, and they're not going to lose 2.
  20. McFadden
  21. Yet another jersey patch. Could do without it.
  22. I'm considering it stuff I remember, which is why there isn't more MJ on my list - I was 11 when he last played for the Bulls.
  23. For the Cubs, got to be the Sammy HR in game 1 of the NLCS. Schwarber's massive dongs from this year get on the list too. Soriano had a walk-off slam in 2009 against Houston that I saw in person, so I have to nod to that as well. Other sports: MJ's last sequence in the '98 Finals and GW shot in Game 1 of '97 Finals Everett Golson's 3 straight improv plays to tie game against Pitt in '12 with 2 minutes left to preserve unbeaten regular season ('I was there' bias) Tom Zbikowski punt return for TD to give ND lead in Bush Push game ('I was there' bias) Jerian Grant's 12 points in 28 seconds to tie game vs Louisville in '13 Everything in the ND/Kentucky Elite 8 game in March up to the last couple of minutes. I'm still not over that one. Might never be. Steve Smith 2OT winning TD in '03 divisional playoff game at St. Louis Steve Smith 2 long-bomb TDs in '05 divisional playoff at Chicago (sorry)
  24. Alabama is evidently getting credit for 3 "quality wins" over A&M, Wisconsin and Tennessee, who have combined to beat....? (notices ND is way higher than I thought and probably than they ought to be) These guys are geniuses!
  25. The Browns and Broncos apparently tried to beat the deadline with a Joe Thomas + 4th rounder for a 1st + 2nd (I think, might have been 1st or 2nd) rounder, but were unable to.
