  1. I'd start Arrieta, but after he had a mortal outing Monday, I can understand the idea to give him an extra day.
  2. 1987 Twins won 85 and the title, which seems freaking impossible to have done in the two-division era.
  3. I got crap on GRB for stating this, but I still feel like Maddon meant that the Cubs wouldn't be reverting to that beanball nonsense and that's what he meant by 'stop stuff'. Unfortunately, since the Cubs hit 3 batters the next day, the narrative became that he meant we're going to take it up to 11. But whatever, we [expletive] finished it.
  4. I have one of those too. I'll probably wait until next season to start giving him crap about this series.
  5. meh happens to me too with a lot of this stuff. I expected it to happen when I saw the last pitch of the series but it didn't quite. If we win the NLCS, it will.
  6. I like Anderson. He was pretty decent in the series. Eckersley and Simpson, though, were atrocious.
  7. [expletive] amazing post. We finished the [expletive] out of it.
  8. I finally watched the game on DVR. I'm beyond in love with this team. I love them all so much.
  9. Schwarber 1 still first, just inches ahead of Schwarber 3, but I'm sorely tempted to put Javy 2nd. That was so unexpected and so [expletive] awesome considering everything Javy had dealt with the last 14 months, and on a really good pitch. It just made me so happy
  10. I honestly don't care. I wanted to kill St. Louis. And we did. We chopped their [expletive] heads off and put their superiority behind this generation of players forever. I think we can beat anyone. If you make me pick someone, I guess LA.
  11. I've worn my Santo jersey for every playoff game, including under work clothes.
  12. I have to think that's what it amounted to.
  13. Damn, I kind of liked 2 pitchers in the lineup.
  14. If we learned anything from Joe in the second half, it's that he'll yank a struggling pitcher. He'll go bullpen day to win this if he has to.
  15. Schwarber vs Pirates is #1. Basically clinched the game and was the most glorious dong ever. Bonus points that he called it weeks in advance. I think I'd give Soler last night maybe the slightest of edges over Castro last night because it was first pitch off Wainwright, but if you wanted to put Castro 2nd for the enormity of coming right back off the mat after Arrieta gave up 2 runs I wouldn't argue. All the others are tied for 4th most awesome.
  16. There will be dongs. We're winning this [expletive] tonight.
  17. We've been in Matheny's head for over a month. Grichuk when he couldn't throw, Molina when he can't hit, and now panic button with Lackey. I [expletive] LOVE IT
  18. We already beat the only team in baseball that might have been better than us. At this point it's just enjoying the ride and hoping the dice roll goes our way.
  19. I like it, do something different if you're going to do something. Everyone does towels.
  20. go game 1 and he can be available for game 5 on normal rest and game 7 bullpen on 2 days. The correct answer, go full Bumgarner with him
  21. Even if we assume USC doesn't circle the wagons and come together to play the game of their lives against ND this weekend, the Irish could get to 10-1 and have their best 2 wins be Temple and Navy. They're playing for a New Year's 6 bowl at this point, essentially no chance at the playoff unless maybe they beat a 10-1 Stanford by 40 points the last week of the season. [expletive] Clemson game.
  22. The wind blowing out is basically the worst possible thing to happen for STL. Arrieta has been masterful in keeping the ball down all season and there's little reason to think it'll change now. If we hit as many dongs as we ought to this evening Arrieta might not even need to go 9.
  23. I had the best team in my league and had Charles. I can probably survive but that really sucks. Also sucks just because he's an awesome football player
  24. As if Mets fans aren't pissed enough
