  1. Just skip to UM vs Ohio State for the B1G title
  2. Must win this game. Beating any playoff team 3 games in a row is difficult, beating these [expletive] 3 in a row is a really big ask.
  3. what kind of idiot spends the (not small sum) money on a personalized jersey for a guy who doesn't even play baseball the team has won 2 world series in the past 10 years and he buys something to mock a different team? Thats just so weird He updates that jersey every year, and that sign is at least 2 years old. Will Leitch posted a picture of it (mocking him) in his article today from when the jersey read 104.
  4. Buck Martinez was the best part of whatever baseball video game he was a part of. I've always wanted a Lobster Cola. Extreme Doilies.
  5. my humble act (about facing lackey) aside, i'd totally go to that and then cheer loudly when all the great things happen. I wouldn't do that myself. I want to be able to be my normal insane self during a big game and I'd feel obliged to tamp it down if I was in the home of the enemy.
  6. Switching them made so much sense (LHP pitching to mostly righties, put your better outfielder in LF) that I almost retroactively wonder why Joe originally had Schwarber in LF. No harm done, though. Of course, Coghlan probably isn't a ton better than Schwarber (do the defensive metrics still rate Coghlan super high for whatever reason?), so it doesn't make much difference.
  7. Still don't hate them. It'll take a lot more than one idiotic plunking in a playoff game to get them up my list of teams I want to see disbanded.
  8. I do not agree with this sentiment. There are pros and cons. Ross is obviously far inferior to Miggy with the bat, but he's a better thrower to bases, which could help with Lester pitching. I wish we were facing a lefty so Ross would at least stand some chance of being useful at the plate, but it's fine. I'm sure Joe will immediately PH Montero if/when Lester comes out.
  9. Ah. I didn't realize you were going for the backhand slap there. Well played.
  10. Maybe they shouldn't cut the B10 out of their schedule. The best B1G team they play asked out of the 2014-15 games so they could play Oregon. And I don't think ND anticipated Michigan was going to fall ass over tea-kettle into one of the top 10 coaches in the whole sport. ND should know a thing or two about how blue blood football teams don't stay down forever. I didn't mean to say UM would be down forever, just that I don't think anyone expected they'd luck into Jim Harbaugh and turn things around basically instantaneously. And that post is somewhat ironic considering ND has been good exactly 3 times in my 20 or so years following the team, and that's charitably including 2006, a year in which every good team they played slaughtered them. As far as I'm concerned, they have been down forever.

  12. I'm really surprised Berry isn't on the roster, although I guess I don't have a good candidate for whom to bench him either. I guess against Molina, you figure you won't be doing a lot of running anyway.
  13. ND is going to have exactly 1 chance at a ranked win. If by some miracle they actually win out, their schedule will probably keep them out of the playoff anyway.
  14. USC losing to Washington with 12 minutes to go.
  15. Bunch of day starts really doesn't make me happy.
  16. Hadn't heard that phrasing before, but I think it was on here that someone posted about Schwarber calling a river shot off Cole like 2 weeks ago.
  17. I sure as hell hope not.
  18. Unless I'm mistaken, the 25-man you're referring to was the wild-card game roster. The Cubs haven't revealed the LDS roster. Hammel will be on it as the 4th starter replacing one of the bench players or relievers.
  19. I'm in DVR/somehow avoid finding out what happens mode for Games 1 and 3 already in this series, and if there's a Game 4 I'll have to do it for that too. Man, having an off-hours job [expletive] sucks sometimes.
  20. One poster over there just claimed he's only ever met one bandwagon St. Louis fan, which means he is either a) a liar or b) a hermit. When would a "bandwagon" Cardinals fan even show up? I don't want to go into the numbers and facts about how they've basically been good forever, but they've basically been good forever. That's a great point as well. Hard to jump on a bandwagon of a team that's never bad to start with.

  22. Now the reporter who said that has kind of recanted, saying it was a placeholder time.
  23. Or, maybe not. http://espn.go.com/blog/newyork/mets/post/_/id/111706/mets-dodgers-game-3-set-for-830-p-m-et?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  24. yeah i was worried when i saw the schedule We're only as early as we are because the Dodgers are West Coast. We've gotta be the premiere game, and should get the prime time slot. We might end up with a semi-late game Monday. Like 9 pm ET or something. But our Wrigley game(s) will be at night.
  25. There's a report - the Colts have denied - that Luck has a separated shoulder.
