  1. And can clinch the division with a win next week. This has been a fun year.
  2. I imagine the committee would use the conference champion justification to vault Stanford past them if they beat USC. So they'd probably need 2 upsets. But Alabama is going to beat Florida by 100, so I wouldn't worry. Thanks to the Sugar Bowl's SEC/Big 12 deal, Ole Miss will probably get a major bowl again, so that's kind of neat for them even though it sucks for whoever finishes in the last spot out of the NY6.
  3. I think that's how it should go, but I'd bet UNC would take Clemson's spot, and wouldn't be shocked to see Florida or Stanford take Bama's. Stanford takes Bama's. Florida is flat-out bad and shouldn't be in the playoff even if they somehow stumble ass over tea-kettle into a win over a sleepwalking Bama.
  4. I don't think there's ever been an unluckier 10-win team than ND this year. After being given a few minutes to let it sink in, I even can somewhat appreciate the way the college football gods trolled ND by having them be hurt by seemingly benefiting from a strange replay decision at the goal line against Stanford - especially since ND's bowl destination was changed in absolutely no way by what happened in this game. They were going to a non-playoff major bowl before, and because everyone behind them got [expletive] destroyed today, they will be going to a non-playoff major bowl now. I just hope Temple beats Houston so they're not stuck playing a non-P5 team that will enable the CFB world at large to completely ignore anything they do well in said bowl.
  5. Because they have 6 points on 3 trips into Stanford territory.
  6. If only Brian Kelly had already [expletive] lost a game this year in large part because he went for 2 well before he needed to. ND is playing the most dominant offensive game I've seen in a really long time, and they're going to be down by 6 in about 45 seconds. Unbelievable.
  7. Eh, I'm the first to go conspiracy theory via conference affiliated referees, but Muschamp was behaving like a lunatic and assistant coaches never get much leeway anyway. Also, Jeremy Johnson is an AWFUL quarterback. Couldn't throw one within 2 feet of anyone all day.
  8. I lost count of how many times Armstrong threw ridiculous desperate chucks into multiple defensive backs
  9. Agree with Raisin - if MLB doesn't want teams to tank, get rid of the piles of incentives they put in to do it.
  10. Assuming Forte is reasonably healthy, there's 0 reason to play Woodhead over the other 3.
  11. Also if the only scenario that can realistically get them in occurs (UM over OSU/Iowa, PSU over MSU) they have a 68% chance of getting in. I wonder what the odds are if that scenario occurs and Iowa beats Nebraska this weekend. Probably worse. UM beating a 12-0 Iowa would be a nice notch in their belt.
  12. I only got Coleman in my league. Not great.
  13. And we've reached the crux of the issue, which is that I like having one sport where you have to be great all year and can't just get hot at the end. Every other sport you can lollygag through a bad division and just get hot at the end. I prefer it this way. I'm in the minority, I know. Also, if there are auto bids and only 2 at large spots, I fail to see any incentive for anyone to schedule worth a damn out of conference.
  14. To put it another way, there is absolutely no reason that Ole Miss, UNC, USC, or UCLA should have a shot at the title right now. If there were auto bids, they would have a shot.
  15. I'm against the expansion of the playoff if only because the only way it would expand is through automatic conference champion bids. As long as there are divisions and unbalanced schedules, there should be no auto bids.
  16. 1 of those 3 is guaranteed to lose. If Alabama loses to Auburn or Florida, do they really deserve a playoff spot? I doubt Auburn or Florida is remotely good enough, but no, they wouldn't.
  17. Oklahoma 3, Iowa 4, MSU 5, ND 6. Anyone who thought ND was ever getting in over a one loss Oklahoma was naive. ND now needs 2 of those 3 teams to lose before the season ends - a win at Stanford wouldn't be good enough to leapfrog any of those teams.
  18. LSU fans not liking Miles because he can't beat Saban consistently is a head-scratcher. No one has been able to beat Saban consistently - the only one who's close is Meyer, and even he bolted the SEC because he didn't want to deal with it anymore he went through a totally legit health crisis that magically evaporated after a year and hasn't returned.
  19. Hard to argue with SSR's order. I'm trying to get any of Rawls, Allen and Bradshaw (I too have Langford and am facing a demotion), but since I've already blown most of my FAAB budget (thanks for getting hurt again, Jamaal Charles) I have little chance at getting any of them. I can start Shane Vereen if I don't get any of those 3, but I don't really want to.
  20. It's not even like I'm arguing they're not good. They probably are the 2nd best team right now. But the SEC that they're plowing through this year is not just not what it usually is, it just flat out isn't very good. The entire conference's collective best non league win is Wisconsin. Wisconsin!
  21. Because Alabama is being singled out by the committee as far and away better than any other 1 loss team and have been all year because eye test. This isn't that hard to understand.
  22. ND is up to 10 starters down with season ending injuries. I'd be surprised if they win and even more surprised if they got in - unless Oklahoma State wins Bedlam. It sure looks like Clemson vs Alabama for the title, though Oklahoma could probably beat the Tigers if fully healthy.
  23. And Notre Dame will have what, one? Over Navy. Oh, and Ole Miss will def lose to Miss State. Home team has won that game like 28 of the last 30 times or something. I wasn't comparing Alabama to ND. I never once brought up ND. Alabama is obviously better than they are. I don't know why fans aren't allowed to have opinions about unrelated teams without their own being brought up. And not that you care, but ND is going to have at least 2 and possibly 3 (don't know whether Temple and/or Pitt will jump in). And Stanford would be another in the unlikely event ND wins that game.
