    I think storms are possible, if not probable, every day. This is true. I'm going to Chicago this weekend and to the game Monday so I've been feverishly checking the forecast because that's how I spend my time.

    Very annoying. Then again our bats seem to have woken up thanks to Butters, and they can't keep putting up 9-2 stretches.

    Yeah, I never understand that. If 107 years is your arbitrary endpoint, then why not 109? The Cubs and White Sox have won exactly the same amount of titles since 1907. It's dumb.

    The most memorable thing he did as a Cub was shove his hand in a saw during the offseason. He scored a game winning run on a Soriano walk-off single during the awesome week in 2007 that one terrific post on this board called "a Cubs orgy"

    The "Six Flags" represents the six different nations that have governed Texas. they will have to re-brand when Texas secedes I know this is a joke, but they actually wouldn't have to, the Republic of Texas is one of the 'Six Flags' that's flown over Texas.

    I'd really love it if Heyward someday went a whole game without grounding out 4-3 (or 4-6-3)

    Noah is better off going to an organization that isn't a damn train wreck, and the Bulls are better off not wasting cap money on a declining former stud. I'll never forget Game 7 of the Nets series in '13, though, a game Noah basically won by himself.

    I really don't see why a group of people who make hundreds of thousands of dollars to work a few hours a day for seven months a year need such a strong union. Do you not know how unions work? Umpires make all that money for that little work precisely because they have a strong union.

    This conversation was 2 pages back, but they basically had one. It was called the way the draft rules worked prior to 2012. Then MLB decided to tie your draft pool to your draft position, and now there's really no incentive whatsoever to not go all in on sucking if you don't think you're going to be at least .500. My posting history here shows I'm no fan of tanking, but MLB brought this on itself by making it the smart thing to do.

    I guess he didn't mean it when he said he was "horsefeathering done with St. Louis TV and radio and horsefeathering done with" STL back in 08. That's probably one of my favorite stories ever even if it's apocryphal.
