  1. All things considered that's not horrible news at all on Heyward. Hopefully he's back in July.
  2. Haha, yeah, what a tease that was. Sprained knee my ass
  3. We'll end up with at least 7 and possibly 8. Rondon will get in during the wave of injury/Sunday pitcher defections. I would hope Russell gets in there too.
  4. Someday Heyward will be good at the plate
  5. (I have no idea if that gets out at another park, but I'm gonna say it anyway)
  6. T-Fed, Ross, Miggy and sadly for now Heyward are 4 guys I'd want Jorge up over in that situation. I'd definitely take Montero over Jorge and probably Heyward too if only because anecdotally he seems to actually make contact more often, but really, we're comparing rotten apples to rotten oranges at that point.
  7. This is stupid. Please kill San Francisco and get this series out of my mind forever please thank you
  8. That throw was crap by Montero, but Zobrist made a horsefeathers effort to block it from getting to the outfield as well. What the hell is going on right now
  9. Holy horsefeathers Grandpa Rossy is awesome
  10. I figured that reach K was coming when JD talked about how will Bryant controls the moment, which is generally true
  11. Rat Boy might have the 2 best swings of the night
  12. I liked the being immortal super gods thing better than this
  13. Counter point; the closer role is overrated so if Nathan miraculously comes back and isn't a dumpster fire the trickle down effect is Rondon pitching in higher leverage spots which is a good thing. The chances of Nathan being the closer of this team at any point are negative 1,000 percent no matter how well be does.
  14. I have a few, none exceptionally great. One time against Houston, in 2009, a bunch of us in the bleachers gave Carlos Lee a hard time, and at one point (after he'd hit a dong) someone yelled that he was on steroids. Lee turned around, mimed a syringe into his arm, and said "Shh." I got a kick out of it and found it harder to hate him after that. In April 2012, we went to a game against Milwaukee soon after the Ryan Braun herpes stuff made the rounds, and although we were way too far away to yell anything, one of my friends got a big "S-T-D" chant going, which I loved. I wasn't at this game, but my friends once gave Ryan Freel some crap against Cincinnati in 2004, and when he said something to the effect of "you're the Cubs, you suck", they yelled back "Look at the flags, Freel, you're in last place!"
  15. Was that the dude who was outted as a Cards troll? did that really end up being the case? i thought that was just a running joke. I think it did, or at least close enough for the mods.
  16. I seriously don't care at all. We are going to lose 2 games in a row some times. Maybe even 3 or 4. We will probably have a stretch where we win 3 of 10 games. This team has already proven they are [expletive] awesome and baseball has already proven to me that all teams slump during a season The problem is I easily start rooting for crazy things. Like last September I wanted to catch the Cardinals. This year I want to be ten games ahead in the division by June and win it in late August and win 120 games. Catching STL was totally not crazy last year. If not for the stupid way we lost one of those September games (I think it was the day before all the beanball crap happened), I think we would have.
  17. Probably, but the baseball gods took 2 of them away already, so we'll need 6
  18. Mark your calendars and such. This is gonna be a fun weekend. http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2016/05/espnabc-set-best-college-football-opening-weekend-schedule-ever/
  19. Gomez hits the DL so now he's definitely useless
