  1. About the same, but I feel a lot worse about the Wizards
  2. We're incapable of putting out a flat-out bad lineup, but...without Rizzo and Fowler we start looking pretty ordinary. You can say that of any team that loses 2 of their top 3 hitters, of course.
  3. We had absolutely zero chance at the title in 2013, and to some extent that year was annoying because Derrick Rose refused to admit he wasn't going to play, but if you didn't enjoy the Nets series (Nate Robinson Game, Joakim Noah basically winning Game 7 by himself) and then Game 1 against the Heat, you have no joy in your heart.
  4. We have the worst Pythagorean fortune I've ever seen.
  5. 23-18 after the loss tonight. That .800 win percentage was pretty.
  6. This feels like the longest losing streak of all time
  7. Heyward has been less bad lately, but every time I actually see him bat he's doing the 4-3 again
  8. Time to fold up the tents, should've just kept tanking.
  9. Zach Lowe said the same.
  10. Hard to believe given how many good STL teams and how many crappy Cubs teams existed in those intervening years.
  11. I would feel pretty sorry for the Mets if they hadn't gotten to experience more fun last October than we've had in 70 years.
  12. I second the plunking...yes, I'm a Neanderthal...or just really dislike the Cards and Matheny So you want to throw a really hard object, at a really high speed at guys that could potentially injure them (and lead to our players be injured or suspended) just because, feelings? Cool thinking Matheny went at Bryant's head on Monday just because Lackey dared pitch inside and clip Moss on the elbow guard. I shudder to think what those assholes would do if we actually did intentionally hit someone.
  13. Already being discussed in the Bulls offseason megathread. No indication of money going NY's way in the deal.
  14. At first glance I thought Moss clipped him in the foot on the slide, but it doesn't look like that. Hard to tell.
  15. Yeah, only the second run scores on the error
  16. It's too bad Rizzo doesn't possess the platinum glove of Brandon horsefeathering Moss or we'd be in pretty good shape
  17. Rizzo has made that pick about a million times and I've never seen him flub one, so yeah, of course it happens now.
  18. There's a pretty good chance we are at least playing for a series win today if a wild pitch doesn't inexplicably manage to hit an ump in the leg Monday. Just because we're way better than STL doesn't mean they're going to stop getting ludicrous breaks, I guess.
  19. Wait the guy with a .422 eFG% was the key in the deal for you? If anything it would seem the goal was to get a competent Gasol/Noah replacement. Wonder if there's still cap wiggle room, not that I'd get my hopes up on them.to actually close a big name. I'm an ND fan. Wanting Grant was purely selfish on my part. I do think he can be much better outside the confines of the triangle, though.
  20. No one feels sorry for Bulls fans - and they probably shouldn't - but not a lot of NBA fan bases have dealt with more horsefeathers than this one since the 98 season ended. I still wonder if the 2012 team might have had a shot against the Heat if it hadn't gone to hell. This team isn't going to be very good next year anyway, so I'm glad the Bulls got Jerian Grant back in the deal to at least give me a reason to watch them regularly.
  21. This whole series is horsefeathering stupid
  22. Well, I tried.
  23. do they still do that thing where the beer/food is cheap if you arrive early? You know, they might. We got there early on Saturday and our food was cheaper than menu price and that confused us. "Early bird pricing" was the only conclusion we came up with. If you mean at Wrigley, the food and non-alcoholic beverages are 25% off for the first hour the gates are open.
