  1. A not-GIDP there would have been nice
  2. Miggy tried to tag from first on a long flyout to center by Almora. The results were predictable
  3. And Montero does something horsefeathering stupid again
  4. Rizzo has almost 3 times as many votes at 1B as 2nd-place Brandon Belt. Good lord. Luckily Posey is gaining on Molina so hopefully we won't have to deal with that garbage.
  5. Yes Maddon seems to like to do that, I approve especially with the next 6 games coming against teams that are technically the closest to us in the division. Yep, the division is under control as it is but might as well be at full strength to really go into burial mode.
  6. Under the circumstances that might have been Russell's best AB of his career. That was awesome.
  7. Poor Ryan Zimmerman is going to need counseling at this rate.
  8. I wish Hendricks hadn't walked the guy in front of Bryce Harper.
  9. Another lucky hit. Might as well get them all out at once
  10. I'm competently flummoxed as to why no power Garcia got that ball out but Bryant's hit stayed in the yard
  11. the only sub-par ballparks left in the majors Do the Braves really expect more attendance in the suburbs? No they simply were able to steal the most taxpayer money moving there Yeah, I'm sure 'the demographics are better' or whatever nonsense is a selling point, but bottom line if Fulton County had handed them $400M they'd have built the stadium in Fulton County
  12. They sent him back down, though, presumably to keep playing Super 2 games with him, which no one cares about after last year's Kris Bryant outrage.
  13. Does this mean the Great Chris Coghlan Infielder Experiment is going to resume? That wasn't particularly pretty last time around.
  14. Well the immediate reason is because LaStella is going on the DL...what the hell happened? Hammy strain, per Bruce Miles. I guess that explains why Travis Wood randomly ran for him the other night.
  15. It occurs to me that this probably doesn't bode well for Soler's chances of coming back any time soon.
  16. Helps the bench, I suppose. No more Federowicz? (Please?)
  17. There was a spectacular infographic posted here not long ago about our RD versus every other team in baseball history to this point.
  18. rany's article is cool, but the interviewer in this ep asks questions like: what positions might the cubs target in the draft to upgrade their team? do you think the cubs are actually better off that schwarber got hurt since they got to upgrade their defense with soler? She also called Kyle Hendricks "Hendrick". Didn't seem like she knew much about the Cubs other than that they're awesome. The Schwarber angle is one that didn't annoy me, but it should've been phrased more like 'did the Cubs get hurt a lot less by the Schwarber injury than we thought they would' rather than implying we're actually better off without him, which is ludicrous.
  19. Yeah, I'm in this camp. The Rossy ride has been a blast, but there's no way he's doing this again if he came back next year. It seems like Contreras starting and Montero as the backup is the most likely thing for next year.
  20. 3 runs or more, actually. 3 times by 5 runs or more.
