  1. 100% agreeance with this entire post. I wanted no part of SF and thought we got lucky that the Marlins beat them.
  2. The only Mets fan I know spent most of 2008 whining about how Johan Santana wasn't a good pitcher because he had a 9-8 record or something. He also honestly believes the Cubs are cursed.
  3. I begrudgingly admit Brady has the credentials to be considered the best, but one of my favorite things about this New England run is it's got the half-dozen friends on my feed who are full-blown Brady fans (despite having no connection to the Patriots or Michigan) in full defensive mode about how this latest run doesn't take anything away from him for some reason.
  4.   if a tree falls in a forest Ha, a college friend of mine and I would constantly make the same joke the year following that World Series.
  5. Well he is also the only one to spend time on the DL so that's contributed
  6. The fact that Schebbler was even standing after that pitch was evidence enough it didn't touch him
  7. That seriously might have been Heyward's best swing this year.
  8. Speaking as someone who's been lucky enough to root for a good team the last few seasons, yes, there is a lot of bad football.
  9. Don't they usually air it after the last wgn game of the season? There's 2 full weeks left, time for more excting Cubs action I'm pretty sure in 08 they aired it after the 1st post-clinch WGN game even though a week still remained.

  11. Don't worry. You just have to wait for Kelly and VanGorder to colossally horsefeathers up. I'm so tired of this garbage program. If you're going to accept that 8-4 or worse 5 of 7 years (which will be Kelly's resume at the end of the year) is the ceiling of this program, then stop pretending to care if you are good at football and just go the BYU route. Stop wasting my [expletive] Saturdays on this crap.
  12. I usually work on the assumption that ND, assuming vaguely similar ranks, will have the most entertaining game of their time slot. You have failed me. Given that most of those games end on heartbreaking losses for ND, I would assume much of the nation feels the same. And upon reflection 7-5 may be optimistic. Stanford and Miami are sure losses, USC could easily be one, NC State is not a gimme and frankly with how Army is looking I'm not chalking that one up either.
  13. Time to spend the rest of the season guessing whether ND goes 7-5 or 8-4
  14. I set an over/under of a combined 25 point margin of victory for Alabama and Michigan when they were down a combined 21, and they're already +24 with a quarter left for each.
  15. To me it still is to some extent. That has a lot to do with my being just 21 and fresh out of college at the time. This team is obviously the new standard. From day one they've been horsefeathering destroying everyone.
  16. Well now we don't have to wonder if he would've had a no-hitter
  17. He's listening to me To be fair to Lester, that Piscotty grounder wouldn't have been an easy play even if Lester could throw to first.
  18. You can check which games are home and road on the MLB's full schedule page: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/schedule/#date=04/01/2017 That's a pain. Interesting thing I found is that the Cubs have a lack of home weekend series in the summer. Always go with friends for one weekend series, and there are only 3 in the mid-June to mid-August time frame I looked: Pirates, STL and Nationals.
  19. I was driving back home tonight during the game (couldn't be a part of the Len tweet storm, but glad to see it went well!), and Coomer was going as close to full blown ripping into West as you'll ever hear him. Talking about how West was putting on a show for no real reason and called it "bad baseball". You know you're a piece of crap when Coomer, who loves everyone as far as I know, gives it to you.
  20. Rizzo, Russell, Bryant, Javy, Hendricks. I would've picked Schwarber instead of Hendricks but since the poll specifically said 2016 Cubs I cheated a little bit as he hasn't been playing. Ross, Contreras, Arrieta and Lester are in the also considered category.
  21. I think I would vote for Bryant, but it would be really hard to pass up Rizzo and Russell, not to mention a handful of others. I think I said it last year too, the best thing about this iteration of the team is that it's damn near impossible to pick a single favorite.
