  1. there are links out there but cant guarantee you wont get computer aids I'm taking advantage of the Sling TV 7-day trial right now. May just pay for a month of it to get me through the playoffs. I am on a Playstation Vue free trial right now and it is outstanding. Definitely dropping DIRECTV for it when the contract is up next month.
  2. I guess Yu can't win by one run if you're getting teed off on all game.
  3. And really don't read the comments. The older I get the more I can't stand these smarmy people who live to tell you why everything you like sucks. Isn't that pretty much what Deadspin is these days? Yep. Even their hatred of STL, while amusing, is pretty much in that territory anymore.
  4. I really wish I hadnt given him my click for that. Don't read that, people. Just don't. And really don't read the comments. The older I get the more I can't stand these smarmy people who live to tell you why everything you like sucks.
  5. I have work and have to go to the DVR for this one, but that actually might be making me a touch less nervous.
  6. do they even do national covers anymore? This one is a national cover (I'm the old guy who still subscribes).
  7. I saw at least one TV schedule that had WAS/LA already listed for MLBN on Monday, but that was probably just a guess.
  8. Sheehan tweeted earlier today that the Rangers have now been outscored for the season.
  9. Georgia @ South Carolina will now be played Sunday apparently.
  10. LSU and Florida are both playing cupcake non-league games Nov. 19, so there's really no reason not to buy out those games, give LSU some money from the piles they have lying around to defray their lost home game revenue, and play the LSU/Florida game. (LSU is scheduled to play A&M five days later on Thanksgiving, but I'm sure they could work out a way to move it to Saturday if that's deemed preferable.) The SEC East is likely to be undecided at that point anyway, so they may not have much of a choice.
  11. To be pedantic, Safeco is Seattle's park and has never been the name of SF's.
  12. So far, only 2 FBS games have been officially moved due to Hurricane Matthew, neither of significance. Tulane @ UCF is now scheduled for Nov. 5, while UMass @ Old Dominion will be played Friday instead of Saturday. There are rumblings about movement of any number of games taking place in the Southeast, particularly ACC games as well as LSU @ Florida, but no official moves yet.
  13. Giving embittered former Rams fans the chance to laugh at how good Carson Wentz is while Jared Goff sits the bench. But in seriousness, I don't know. Those map anomalies are usually due to a former college player from the area, but I don't think either of those teams fit that description.
  14. Seriously. I'm actually fat now, but back when I was a ridiculously skinny 205-210 pounds, at 6'4", BMI had me as overweight. That's the last time I paid attention to that number.
  15. I'm more excited than anxious, but if we lose a game I fear I will do a quick 180. That said, I was confident the Cubs had a chance to rally back against the Mets right up until the first inning of Game 4 happened, so maybe I will be more optimistic again this year.
  16. On the one hand, it's really dumb that a relatively rare Carolina national TV game is going to be played at the same time as a Cubs playoff game, but on the other hand, Carolina really horsefeathering sucks, so maybe I should be glad I'm getting spared it.
  17. Well what do you know, this worked out after all.
  18. No way they blackout the playoffs, right? Huh? Why would they do that when they are the only network in the country broadcasting the game? Yeah, I'm not sure jumbo realizes those blackouts don't apply when the local RSNs don't have the game.
  19. This happened to me in my keeper league 2-3 years ago. Ended the season with far and away the most points but missed out on the playoffs with like a 5-9 record since I played the highest scorer every week. Update: After the 3pm games, I held a 154-139 lead. Opponent had Roethlisberger left, I have Minnesota's D. You can see where this is going. Normally in that situation I'd feel pretty good about winning. But Roethlisberger scores him 43 points and now I need 25 points from Vikings D to avoid going 0-4. I am likely to finish with the 3rd most points in the league this week and of course my opponent will finish with the 2nd most. How does this keep happening? I hate that so much. One year I led my league in scoring four different weeks (I don't remember where I finished for the whole season in scoring, but it was high) but finished 5-8. 1-8 when anyone in the entire league outscored me.
  20. This week I somehow caught the wrong end of 3 same-team combinations that should usually go my way. I had DeAndre Hopkins and my opponent had Will Fuller, which resulted in about minus-20 points for me. I had Doug Baldwin and Tyler Lockett and my opponent had Jimmy Graham, which resulted in minus-6 more. (Just to rub it in, my opponent also had Russell Wilson, who threw TDs to CJ Spiller and an undrafted rookie FA, but not Baldwin or Lockett.) I had David Johnson and my opponent had John Brown...another minus-4 points. I am somehow winning by a fraction of a point because I had Matt Ryan (hey, thanks for ruining my NFL season, buddy), but I have Orleans Darkwa and my opponent has Odell Beckham Jr. tonight. It'd be nice if I caught the right end of one of these improbable teammate dichotomies, but who am I kidding.
  21. FS1 has UFC stuffs that night so I imagine that's the problem. Maybe MLB shot down being on FS2? MLBN always gets a couple of playoff games regardless of whatever else is going on. They did last year too but both of them were AL games.
  22. I have a wedding to attend the weekend after this one and I live in fear of missing an NLCS game because of it. One thing at a time, though.
  23. Andy Lee is the only good Panthers' player. He's also the punter.
