I'm not saying I would be utterly shocked if Heyward weren't in tomorrow's lineup, but if Joe was going to play him against Kershaw, knowing he would be horsefeathering useless at the plate, in a smaller ballpark, I don't know why he wouldn't play him against a lefty not named Kershaw in a much larger ballpark.

Thoughts after the greatest Cubs moment of my lifetime. I'm sort of with TT, I didn't mind the way Joe managed the 8th. If Bryant just takes the out at 1st instead of trying to go nuts, maybe Chapman gets out of it. I was fine with Montero against the righty but it cracked me up that Joe was going for the ninja Contreras matchup again. Roberts fucked that 8th inning up left and right. He deserved to lose for walking Heyward. Which isn't to even speak of the fact that you had Joe horsefeathering Blanton pitching in the 8th inning of a tied NLCS game. Even if Jansen wasn't available, you had no one better? (If he actually had no one better I will recant this part) I love this team.

I'm sure the national writers know more than me but I'm getting tired of watching embarrassing ND losses and having to read tweets telling me there's no chance of a coaching change. How much of a horsefeathering punchline do they have to be to justify it?

He and Charles Davis are the B team aren't they? Or is that supposed to be Kenny Albert and Johnston (who are obviously better than anything with Brennaman involved)? I can never tell. The last one was Game 5 of the 1986 ALCS between the Red Sox and Angels. Not sure about the other 2. The other 3 were within 5 days of each other in the 1986 playoffs. Yep, both by the Mets. One in the NLCS and the other was the Buckner game.

I left work and it was 5-2 and I'd turned the game off on my phone, checked At Bat and saw we had 2 on, so despite the fake rally alarm bells I knew I had to listen to Pat and Ron on the drive home and now I'm hoarse. I held my 8 week old son and watched the postgame interviews with him and it was a moment I'll never forget. I hope I get a few more of those this month. Go Cubs Go

I'm not certain how mid-playoff series roster changes work, but as horrible as Rondon's been since coming back from the DL it wouldn't surprise me if he were back on the DL in favor of Cahill or Smith by game time. There is no DL but he'd be ineligible for the NLCS if replaced on the roster

The thought did occur to me that, provided the stupid doesn't happen, there are worse things than making it so Lackey isn't crazy rusty for the NLCS.
