Didn't he almost end his career because he got wasted and almost burned through his forearm with a lit cigar? That was him right? Something with him and putting fire to his pitching arm, I'm not sure of the specifics. I don't think you need specifics when you start a sentence with "Something with him and putting fire to his pitching arm". :lol:

In my infinite genius I forgot to put Steve Smith back in the starting lineup for this week after the bye last week and he broke a bunch of Panther records today in torching the Vikings. Go figure. My team was beyond screwed anyway though, I think I might have single digit points in my Roto league this week.

Ah yes. I got rather used to that celebration last year when Muhammad was basically Carolina's whole offense. I'm doubly happy that a) we don't have a one man offense anymore and b) that Muhsin is enjoying such success on his new team. :)

In all fairness, should UCLA get too much respect considering they had to come back from down 21 against a team that lost to UC Davis earlier this year? ND moved up to 8 with absolutely no one left on the schedule who can beat the Irish if they play even half as good as they can, so a BCS berth is all but a certainty.

Man, I want that Cleveland game back. Get the right call on the Benson "fumble" and the Bears are fighting for home field advantage! The Skins game was very winnable too. Carolina's two losses have both come on FGs inside 10 seconds left in the game, so they could well be 7-0 right now. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Too late now, no place to go but forward.

I would have bet my house against Notre Dame's schedule turning into what it did. For all the talk about how the Irish were in danger of starting 0-6, only three teams on ND's entire schedule this year have winning records: Michigan, MSU and USC. I wouldn't be surprised if ND has more trouble with the Vols than people will think. They'll be playing their butts off trying to avoid being 3-5.

So much for paring down the field of unbeatens. We nearly had three, but then stubborn Texas and UCLA decided to be great teams again. :wink:

Yeah, it wasn't 2 yards, but Breaston definitely got a half-yard or so extra from the refs. Even when they leave Ann Arbor they still catch the breaks. Texas down 28-9 to Oklahoma St...they've got some work to do. Stanford still up 7-3 on UCLA in the 3rd... Two big upset possibilities right now.

Unless the Cubs are moving Murton to SS in a double switch. That would prove the existence of the "Dusty Dice". And be hilarious. While they're at it they should move ARam to CF, Lee to C and Barrett to closer. I think you are really on to something here, USS. Ramirez would give the Cubs their best offensive CF ever! And Lee would easily be the best offensive catcher in the majors. Plus, he is used to blocking throws in the dirt, so he has a leg up on the position defensively! Barrett's got a heck of an arm, too, so he could easily make the switch to closer. The main problem would be to get him to stop throwing the ball to 2nd base all the time. But I think Rothschild can get him pointed in the right direction. With Lee at catcher, the Cubs sign Konerko to play first. They bring up Pie to play 3B and move Dempster to RF. Done. Can Dempster hit? I suppose if he can't we can just bat him leadoff just like we put all our scrubs who can't hit in that spot. :) -
Michigan 7, NW 0. I wouldn't even bet half a penny that this is the last score of the game. Edit: And it wasn't. Tyrell Sutton fumbles, Leon Hall takes it back 83 yards for a score. 14-0 Wolverines. Edit 2: Basanez 62 yard TD pass and it's 14-7. 6:30 into the game and 21 points. No one is surprised.

Can Joe Tereshinski become a UGA legend? Under 3 mins left, and it's up to the backup QB, down 4 to the Gators. edit: Evidently not. Final, Florida 14 Georgia 10. Meanwhile, under 7 minutes left in De Kalb, IL, and BSU leads NIU 31 to 17. Come on Cards!

NIU finally remembered that they're the 9th-ranked offense in the country. 24-7 Ball State lead now. Hopefully they can hold.

BSU was the school that got crushed with suspensions, right? Do they have those guys back? Yes, the last of the suspensions were served at the Oct. 15 Toledo game. The Cardinals gave Bowling Green the fight of their lives even with the suspensions back in September and beat WMU in 5 overtimes on the road earlier, so the team's had a bit of a surreal season. I think they're on the right track though.

For any MAC-o-philes. Ball State - 17 N. Illinois - 0 Halftime The scoring-machine Huskies have amassed a grand total of 39 offensive yards against a Cardinal defense that coming in, had failed to give up fewer than 34 points in seven games this season. Go Cards! This would be a big win for the program. :D
