  1.
  2. QB rating: Quinn - 161.87 Leinart - 166.94 Passing Yards: 2167 Touchdowns: 23 Interceptions: 3 Comp %: 67.3 QB Rating: 165.34 Who is that? That guy in my sig. And he easily has the worst receiving crew of the bunch. After reading the Maurice Drew article in SI recently I'm beginning to wonder what the heck is wrong with college football that the statistically best QB in the country (Olson) is doing without any Heisman hype. That's a damn shame.
  3. Worst opening night in the history of the franchise. Losing by over 20 to the freakin Bobcats and now Hinrich down. Evidently he didn't look good walking off either.
  4. Should only take one or 10 more years of a sub-3.00 ERA and 16+ wins before he gets it. :x
  5. You can listen to the game live via WLSam.com if you want to.
  6. The defense has been terrible and the Bulls are turning the ball over too much and fouling too much.
  7. Relevant: Passing Yards: Leinart - 2530 Quinn - 2352 Touchdowns: Quinn - 20 Leinart - 19 INTs - Quinn - 4 Leinart - 6 Comp% Quinn - 65.7 Leinart - 65.5 Heisman Watch Position: Quinn - 4 Leinart - 3 Other than Leinart's making the plays he had to make against ND (which is an iffy argument because Quinn also made the plays he had to make in that game), why should this be the case? :?
  8. I strongly disagree. Rusch is a lefty, a veteran, has accumulated some tenure with Dusty and the Cubs, makes $3M per year, and is signed for 2 years. Dusty also has a history of being very tolerant of bad spring performances from his favorite veterans. Dusty will not have this be an even competition for the 5 slot. Williams will have to outplay Rusch by a wide margin to get the job. 2004: Sergio Mitre has a +6 ERA in spring, Jimmy Anderson has a sub-2.50 and Mitre gets the last starting slot. Never was happy with that.
  9. No blackout on WLS. :D I'm even more psyched now I'll be able to listen to the games I can't get on WGN-TV. BIMI, your guess is as good as mine as to Pargo not dressing... Starting for the Bulls tonight: Duhon Hinrich Chapu Songaila Chandler For the Bobcats: Brevin Knight Kareem Rush Gerald Wallace Emeka Okafor Primoz Brezec
  10. I'm praying for WLS's internet streaming of the game to not black out. If I get to listen to Bulls games on the radio it would be the highlight of my year.
  11. The Reputation/SportsCenter Fielding Award Sponsored by ESPN Hmmm...has a kind of ring to it.
  12. Even if Ichiro is available, I doubt that we'd be getting equal value if we traded for him. Seattle would want a lot.
  13. I would hope that MLB is not this desperate to cover their stars' a$$es. But unfortunately considering their behavior so far regarding steroids, this is a perfectly plausible scenario.
  14. That was an incredible game. I got excited when DLee hit the first home run and then when he hit the 2nd one I jumped up and down on my bed, and then when CPatt walked off for the win I went completely nuts. I felt so optimistic at that point. Too bad it ended up not going the rest of the year like that.
  15. The problem is that we have lots of candidates for #4 and #5 (Maddux, Rusch, Williams, etc.) and most of the people you mentioned aren't much better than what we have. Valid point. I, for one, though have been wondering why we haven't heard Washburn rumblings considering JH's apparent love affair with a left handed starter any way he can get one.
  16. Oh come on. Who was a better fielding pitcher? I don't know, but Maddux didn't strike me as wondrous out there. Maybe my expectations for Maddux are extraordinarily high, but he didn't seem to be much better than any of our other pitchers. On occasion he'd make an exceptional play, other times he'd commit a flub. In fielding prowess, he didn't seem to be any better than Carlos Zambrano (if anything, I'd rate Carlos higher). Whether Maddux did or did not deserve the gold glove, there is little doubt he is gobbling them up on name recoginition. I don't think the people that vote for this stuff know any better than I do as to who was the league's best fielding pitcher. I would've voted John Smoltz. He had good numbers at most every stat and had no errors compared to Maddux's 3.
  17. Vizquel got it by name as Jack Wilson was more deserving. Wilson had Vizquel by high margins in Range Factor and Zone Rating. He also was involved in a whopping FORTY-FIVE more double plays than Vizquel. My ballot at SS would have been: 1. Jack 2. Neifi 3. Vizquel
  18. Congratulations to Maddux and Lee! I wouldn't have given it to either of them but I'm not going to argue with some more honors for the Cubs. :P
  19. ESPN Bottomline also reports that Guardado's option got picked up.
  20. I voted for the Perez slam because at the time it was huge for possible playoff implications and because it was unexpected. I love going back and watching great moments from the Cubs online. I still go back and watch things from 04 once in a while too. It's fun when you've got lots of time to burn.
  21. Helton deserves it. A quick glance at stats shows that much. If Lee gets it, it'll be more for his hitting than anything, as odd as that is for a fielding award.
  22. Throwbacks.... :( Not a fan.
  23. What? GOOD players? That doesn't make any sense...
  24. Shall we sticky this thread? Mike, I agree with you, I can't see anyone other than LeBron getting MVP especially considering how good the Cavs are now.
  25. Fewer Win Shares than Eckstein and Furcal and we're going to use pretty damn good?? Don't tell ESPN that Jeter is statistically worse than Eckstein... If he didnt come with the Yankee pricetag (20 mil, ouch), tell me you wouldnt want him on your team. Well I wouldn't have a problem with him on the Cubs, but I wouldn't have a problem with a lot of people on the Cubs at SS, the four people ahead of him in WS included.
