  1. Or Hairston. I figure Walker will be back in the lineup.

    Maddux

I'm closer to TT's side here. It WAS refreshing to see Maddux get all those ground balls, but there were at least 3 balls that would've been out without any wind. He certainly looked better than most of last year, and if he can cut down on those home run balls he will be an above-average 4th starter behind Z, Prior and Wood later in the year.
  3. Yeah there are a hundred of these threads, but I'm intensely curious, mainly because shortly after this draft, one of the other league members told me that he thought I had by far the best team in the league. Categories are Runs, Home Runs, RBI, Stolen Bases, Walks, Strikeouts, On-Base Percentage and Slugging Percentage for hitters, and Wins, Losses, Saves, Home Runs Allowed, Strikeouts, Holds, ERA, WHIP, and K/BB Ratio for pitchers. There are 10 teams in the league. C - Michael Barrett 1B - Carlos Delgado 2B - Jorge Cantu 3B - Hank Blalock SS - Michael Young IF - Nick Johnson LF - Jason Bay CF - Milton Bradley RF - Chad Tracy OF - Dmitri Young Util - Chris Shelton Util - Jay Gibbons Bench - Ronnie Belliard Bench - Placido Polanco Bench - Matt Murton (went undrafted in 4 of my 5 leagues, was picked up off FA wire) SP - Jake Peavy SP - Carlos Zambrano SP - John Smoltz SP - Cliff Lee RP - Francisco Cordero RP - Chad Cordero RP - Ryan Dempster RP - Jose Valverde P - Jon Garland P - Joe Blanton P - Jeff Weaver Bench - Paul Bryd Bench - Aaron Harang
  4. If I'd thought there was any risk of him being drafted before then I would have, but my league is a bunch of idiots. :D
  5. Eric, How is it being such a highly touted prospect right off the bat? I can't imagine so much attention being placed on my every move like it is for you Cubs prospects! Also, were you at all frustrated with general fan sentiment towards your brother Corey during his struggles last season with the team? I know we as fans are often unnecessarily harsh on one of our guys if they are struggling and I've always wondered how it feels to be on the other side. Thanks a lot for your time, we are ALL rooting for you! Andy
  6. Furcal got the day off so I'm still stuck at 0. :( It's Mark Ellis tomorrow, then Murt on Sunday night to start a new streak.
  7. If the Cubs just plain lose, I act like a close relative just passed away for about an hour, then I'm good. But if the bullpen blows it or it ends on a stupid blunder or a Neifi GIDP or the like...oh, things get thrown.
  8. 24 Cardinals are classy. The rest are named Jim Edmonds.
  9. If you can't get your business done in 5 minutes, you probably have more problems than the hot water in the showers.

Good. Hopefully we'll see those bastards in the national championship game next April. I could be reaching here, but it seems like you might not be over Monday's game yet.
  11. I'll miss the end of this one as I'll be visiting family. :( Hopefully the Cubs have it nailed down by 4:00 ET.
  12. You and me both.
  13. Scoreboard-watching: Philadelphia, Indiana and Milwaukee ALL lost tonight. Milwaukee next plays red-hot New Jersey, while Indiana next plays Detroit on the road. A Bulls win over Philly on Saturday could well lead to being 1/2 out of the 6th spot when we wake up Monday morning.

The more I think about it, the more I think the Bulls are picking Brandon Roy. They love picking guys with a lot of college experience, and Roy was a solid player who has a decent upside.
  15. Wolf, you have got to keep that sig going for as long as possible! At least until you come to the realization that they both suck. Hey, Marquis can hit. Unfortunately, he can't pitch.
  16. Boy, Roger Cedeno and Michael Murton - what a team. Stupid network.
  17. What a great way to start the home season! :D
  18. Oh wow, I didn't know Ted Ferguson was in town.
  19. Who wants to drive the Neifi Perez BandWGN??? Just kidding.
  20. Well Dusty does the right thing and takes Maddux out before much damage can be done. Who's coming in you think? Weurtz, Eyre? God I hope not Williams. . My money was on Eyre.
  21. Edmonds quick to round the bases after that homer. He knows Z starts tomorrow...
  22. Only at the beginning of the game as I recall.
