Nocioni does normally. Gordon had a stretch in February or thereabouts where he was playing well as a starter but on the whole he plays better when off the bench. It's a mystery why, but his 4th-quarter heroics almost always come in games he does not start. Same reasoning as Ben. Tyson almost always plays better off the bench. 4 times this year he has grabbed 20 rebounds off the bench. Thomas is not a Skiles type of player. He didn't report to camp in shape and is not a good guy to have in the clubhouse. He didn't play very well in the few games he actually got in. Hope all that helped!
which Cubs player was Aniston fooling around with at that time? If any Cubs player was ever involved with Aniston, it just reinforces everything I love about this team.
Well Ramirez is sort of locked up, it's just a matter of whether he opts out or not after this year. I cant think of a better option at 3B. How much does he have left? "I want to be a Cub for the rest of my life." I think it would take a lot for Ramirez to opt out. Either a season so astronomically good that he knew for sure that he could get a lot more on the FA market, or major shakeups that he didn't like involving the Cubs. I highly doubt he opts out.
Mariotti actually said that anything could happen and was the only one to even consider the possibility, so let's not all hate on him here. He also commended the Trib for doing a good job at not letting the new bleachers affect the ambience in his Face Time, BTW.
Cheaper would've been better, but I still think the Cubs will end up with a bargain in this deal. We all look forward to you finishing your career here in Chicago, Derrek - keep on mashing!!! :D
1999: I fully convert from being an Atlanta Braves fan (from my S. Carolina roots) to being a Cubs fan. 1999-2002: We suck. The Cards don't. Although they don't do a lot. 2003: Mark Prior hates on the Cardinals after he beats them in a start. Steve Kline responds by publicly hoping he is killed by a line drive off his head. I am pissed. 2004-2005: Cardinals import any and all manner of average to bad players and watch them all have the years of their lives while running away with the division two years in a row. I get bitter. 2005-06 offseason: I join NSBB and meet some classy Cardinals fans, but also hear new stories that give me even more reasons to hate STL. That's pretty much the story.
I've been all over Barrett's bandWGN since Day 1, and it's been a pleasure watching him now into his third season. I hope he's here for a long time coming and I'm sure he does too. :)
I let out a yelp as soon as Barrett touched the ball and then reverted to dog-level audio for the next couple of minutes dancing around the room. For Jacque I just yelled "Go ball, get out!" and pumped my fist. Great for Jacque, it just wasn't as big a homer. :D
There was at least one more where they were interviewing him during the game on WGN. It may have been the same Indiana game, though, now that I think of it.
For the record, I had Furcal, who didn't play, on Friday, then had Mark Ellis, who didn't play, on Saturday. Then Murton went hitless today. So Vladimir Guerrero and Johnny Damon better start mashing. MLB owes me one.
They also have the wind pick up when the opposing team bats. Len can control the weather with his mind. And the clubhouse showers. Don't doubt the powers of da Len.
