  1. The guy we almost traded for Matos has a .478 average.
  2. Someone's said it after every inning, and he still has it. Maybe it should continue to be posted.
  3. Craig Wilson in. What did Mabes do to Casey?
  4. I'll say this again: We were this close to trading this man for LUIS MATOS. It'll be repeated all year.
  5. Marshall is 1/9 of the way to his perfect game.
  6. Just can't resist, can you? Very original. It's about as shocking as seeing McGwire attacks on a Cub board, wouldn't you say? Yeah, I'm seeing nothing but open hatred of Mac on this thread. Look at all those people openly accusing McGwire of doing things. Oh, no, wait, no one is.

The Bulls don't have a second round pick this year. Yes, I believe the fact that we will have a top-5 pick transfers our 2nd round pick to Utah. A convoluted part of the Curry deal. The Jazz would've gotten the Knicks' pick instead of our 2nd-rounder if the Knicks had managed to get any of picks 26-30 in the first round.
  8. This could potentially get interesting. Imagine a BTS contender coming from NSBB? Chad Tracy is going for 4 for me, and Pujols is tomorrow's pick. and now you've jinxed me If you posting daily updates on all your hits doesn't jinx you, I won't either.
  9. Tracy did indeed get me to 4, tying my season high. Pujols, Bay - you're up.
  10. They've been doing it for a few years now. That's why a lot of people were saying "it's only three games" after the sweep of the Cardinals. It's a long season. The cream will rise to the top by the end of the year. And it will be interesting to see which team is the cream. My money is on BALCO.
  11. I agree with (gasp!) the Cards fans here. Remember Mariano Rivera's April 2005? Obviously Izzy is not on Mo's level, but all closers have their bad weeks. Izzy just has the misfortune of having one to start the season.
  12. Good lord, even Dusty brings Dempster in almost exclusively for "classic" saves. What manager doesn't?
  13. AT&T Park is one of, if not the, worst home run park in all of baseball. Alou did not hit 20 last year, Bonds is well over 40 and juice-less now (presumably), Niekro is in his first season as a starter, and Feliz is a supersub pressed into starting duty.
  14. That was the case last night, I think. Now I have XZero at 35 on top and HawkCub and ublink at 13 at the bottom, if that helps.
  15. This could potentially get interesting. Imagine a BTS contender coming from NSBB? Chad Tracy is going for 4 for me, and Pujols is tomorrow's pick.
  16. And not really "proven." There are lots of 20-year-old pitchers who don't reach their potential, due to injuries or other things (like Doc). Felix has a very high ceiling, but being a pitching prospect means he also comes with a great deal of risk. It's not like you're dealing all of those guys and getting a guarantee that he'll have a Clemens-type career rather than an injury-riddled one. True, I'm very leery of pitching prospects injuries wise however I think Felix's talent is too great not to do the deal. Think about where the organization would be after doing that trade. We'd have basically nothing in the system worth trading, and we'd be up one stud pitcher. It'd take years to get the system back, and the Cubs aren't one Felix Hernandez away from winning the pennant. If you were that committed to trading all those guys, you could probably get better value receiving multiple players in return. I guess it all comes down to how much you value Wuertz, Hill, Guzman, Pawelek, Pie, Harvey. Personally I don't think it's a very exciting bunch. I also disagree about getting better value with multiple players in return. Again, Felix is one of the greatest pitching prospects in the history of baseball. That said, I certainly understand your position. See Brian Taylor, JR Richard, etc. True, I understand the risks however Seattle won't allow him to pitch 240 innings or throw 120 pitches in a game. They are learning from the sins of the past. Dusty Baker? He doesn't learn.
  17. I'm with you, very eager to get a new game going after today's debacle.
  18. Adam Dunn would never again hit 40 homers without the benefit of playing against the Cubs. And Z will not lose more than 1 more game because of emotional meltdowns (although you could argue that he lost this game more because of the general stupidity of trying to pick off Eric freaking Milton twice than anything).
