Absolutely. The same thing happened last year and Ramirez ended up close to Lee's numbers in HR and RBI before he was shut down, so he'll be fine.

Are you assuming Wood isn't healthy? While your rotation isn't bad, I'd prefer Zambrano, Prior, Wood, Maddux, Miller...especially if each is pitching near his 3-year average. In fact, if Wood, Prior and Miller return to pitch somewhere in that range, we will have one of if not the best rotation in the league. I have a really strong gut feeling that Wood is gonna come back and pitch like Kerry Wood for the rest of his season. I don't know what it is, but I just feel like he will. I agree and feel the same about Prior. I have no idea why because no rational human being should feel like that right now, but I do.

?!?!?! I don't know why it says that, but I firmly remember that play because I was at a friend's and we went nuts when it happened. Barrett hit a fly ball that, to be honest, should have gotten Milton one step closer to his no hitter, except that Doug Glanville broke backwards on the ball initially before realizing it wasn't that deep. He then could not get to it on time. All other things being equal (the two K's after Barrett), Milton would've hurled a no-no that day - and it would've been the first against the Cubs since Koufax fired a perfecto against them way back in 1965. -
Haha, this could turn into fun. Just to note, I've noted my lack of athletic skill in the OMC girl troubles thread, so that is why I chose to manage. :)

With 11 and 7, Noc is closing in on his eighth straight double-double. I don't think it can be overstated how ridiculous that feat is for a guy his size.

Maddux will go as a Brave unless he keeps pitching like this for 6 1/2 more months and single-handedly takes the Cubs to the Series title, and even that may not be enough. I'm not sure what Mad Dog would decide if it was up to him, but Boggs wanting to go in as a Devil Ray kind of ruined that.

Told you it would work when I did it. :) Anyway, my wonderful schedule that gives me Tuesday and Thursday off after 12:15 pm lets me see this one. It's the only Cubs day game that my schedule specifically allows me to see all of, though.

Bulls were the last team to beat the Nets before they ripped off 14 in a row as well, but they came out flat tonight in Atlanta. Understandable. Luckily Gordon didn't, he has 13 midway through the 2nd and it's a 4 point Hawks lead.

By no means do we need at least one lefty if that lefty is not a good pitcher. I like Sean Marshall because I think he can be a good pitcher, not because he is a token lefty. It's statements like "we need a lefty" that keep guys like Glendon Rusch employed.

I'd like to see Marshall get a quality start before dubbing him "real". Even if you count Marshall as a non-real starter, we're still unbeaten when real starters start games.
