  1. The double IBB to Kent and Nomar forcing the Dodgers to pinch-hit a pitcher.
  2. I was gonna say, do mine eyes deceive me?
  3. I guess I can't quite make the connection. If you go from having no leadoff hitter one year (CPatt, Neifi, whoever else we put there) to even an average leadoff hitter (Pierre) it's going to help you a lot. All of a sudden Walker is batting with a runner on more often so DLee and Ramirez will also. It's unfortunate that Lee got hurt because I had no doubt that his RBI total would have increased by at least 10 this year even if his HR's and BA went down a bit. He would have benefitted from having Pierre leading off. Pierre's OBP is .299 right now, I don't think they're batting with runners on all that much more often than 2005.
  4. Who do they have left in the pen? Apparently only starters, since Conjoined Fetus Lady is warming up in the pen.
  5. Looks like SonnyD has anointed ATC as a Real Cubs Fan. I eagerly await the next induction.
  6. 11-0 in the 7th. I wish the Cubs could trade a mediocre OF for a 50-homer threat when we have a better OF waiting to take his place.
  7. I'm with TT here. It's not that some of us only see the negatives, it's that there is more debate and disagreement about the negatives, therefore creating long threads about the bad stuff.
  8. Someone mentioned it briefly in the Zach Day thread but there was nothing else about it.
  9. All Twins fans: "There through thick and thin"
  10. My astronomy professor probably won't, being as she's Indian. But I'll skip class anyway. Yeah, my Chinese marketing professor will totally understand. I have no idea what you're talking about. To be honest, neither do I.
  11. He was the offense tonight, pretty much. Hell of a game for this kid. Hell of a season coming up for this kid.
  12. My astronomy professor probably won't, being as she's Indian. But I'll skip class anyway.
  13. CUBS WIN! When was the last time Dempster even gave up a BASERUNNER in a save situation?
  14. Put the Marlins in the http://www.santabarbaraca.gov/SolidWaste/images/BFI_dumpster.jpg
  15. Dempster's money, let's prove it again. (Helps when you don't have to face Cabrera)
  16. You've got to be kidding me... Cabrera go-ahead run :x
  17. If Howry lets Uggla reach, it's Dempster time IMO...
  18. Please explain. Up 7-3, we line up for a field goal, kicker pooches it and does a terrible job, ball is going to land inside the 5 yard line and conceivably roll into the end zone for a touchback. Vasher, by all accounts a really nice guy, has a brain fart and makes a diving catch at the three. A play later a blitzing Roy Williams hits Chris Simms throwing arm, the ball flutters into Teddy Lehman's hands who strolls into the endzone for a TD, 14-3 OU. That play by Roy Williams is one of the best plays I've ever seen. It was just unbelievable. [bias]Julius Peppers' mid-air one-handed pick of a Vick fumble without breaking stride and goes 60 yards for a TD is better[/bias]
  19. That explains Gameday taking five minutes to regroup and figure out what the hell a pickoff play is
  20. JERRY! And more applause for Marshall as Restovich PH's.
