  1. Comedy on NSBB. Neifi gets brought up and a huge argument ensues. It's like clockwork. OMGZ I'M NOT ARGUING JUST BECAUSE IT'S NEIFI I JUST HATE THE WAY DUSTY USES HIM GO COBS
  2. I don't mind having guys on the team that the girls have crushes on as long as it brings more hot girls to the park.
  3. Yes, it does. It is ignorant to believe that three plate appearances is enough of a sample size to start a terrible player. Also, I just rechecked HHH's post on the first page, and it showed Neifi as being 0-8 against willis? Which number is correct? If he truely is 0-8, then there isnt even an argument. 3-3 is referring to Neifi's numbers against last night's pitcher, Vargas.
  4. A Cardinal fan!! LET'S GET EM!! That's why I love this board, I can count on reading at least 4-5 posts like this a day that make me giggle.
  5. I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with taking video AT a game and posting it on YouTube, as opposed to TV footage which would be illegal. I may be wrong on this, though.
  6. Definitely agree with this. He has the ugliest swing by far of any Cub of the last six years (since I started regularly watching).
  7. I'm glad you do, because it's about time a real cub fan spoke up and opened some eyes..... You didn't even read this thread! We're trashing Jockstrap because he compared us negatively to TWINS fans because "they are there through thick and thin", which might be the stupidest Cubs-related thing ever said. That led to a discussion of if and when booing is acceptable. But it's good to know that you think you are "the voice" of Cubs fans when you can't even read a damn message board thread well enough to know what it's about.
  8. I'm starting to doubt my ability to win this thing. I have so many picks in common with Truffle (ARod, Dunn, Pujols, Gomes, Thome) that my other picks would basically have to tear up the world to win. That said, it is April and anything can still happen. I've still got a couple of numbers different from those on Truffle's list, but I'm probably out of date (for instance I had Swisher at 7 until he hit his 9th yesterday).
  9. It was actually Prior for Tejada straight up. The rumor is that Hendry asked for Bedard along with Tejada and Baltimore balked, justifiably as it turned out. That's how I remember it and seems to be accurate from what I've read on Oriole forums as well. When Hendry called about Tejada, the Orioles expressed interest in Prior. Hendry said to give up Prior he'd need a pitcher in return, such as Bedard. Which was a very smart move by Hendry BTW.
  10. The Astros got swept but the games were close. The Astros played good baseball in the Series but the Sox were better. No shame in that unlike the Cards in 2004. I would agree with this. Everyone knew Houston would have trouble scoring runs. It was simply the White Sox' year, from the Dye "HBP" to Podsednik golfing a terrible pitch to hit out of the yard to Geoff F***ing Blum hitting a game-winner in Game 3 to no one in Houston thinking to go reverse-Bartman on that popout in Game 4.
  11. Oh screw you, man. This is ridiculous. Cubs fans are the best and most loyal in all of sports, college or pro, and if Jock's going to go off on them, then he should be booed every single time he steps to the plate. Todd Hundley-style.
  12. It was 3-2. Murt got it to 3-2 after starting off down 1-2. Have I mentioned I love the kid?
  13. Restovich in RF tonight against the lefty Willis please.
  14. He IS a classy guy, but he's human. A guy showboated him, and he showboated back. Personally, I don't want a guy who hides under a rock. Like I said, Zambrano was showboating last night, and it wasn't even in retaliation for anything. He was showboating just for the sake of it. You are making no sense. Holding a grudge for a year is less pathetic than gettingp umped about big strikeouts that keep your team in the game? Absolutely ridiculous. Admit Pujols is an ass for doing this or just stop talking.
  15. I've learned not to get my hopes up with this team. I'm not expecting miracles, but I am expecting a fun summer. This team is very likable and fights hard.
  16. .258/.343 (8BB/11K) Murt is the only player on this entire team (other than Lee) who could put up a pretty solid OBP even when he is hitting .258. Very impressive patience at the plate. :D
  17. just get an attractive lady to try next time, Neifi can't say no to the ladies. Neifi is a ladies' man. Vance, you could always try to get Rubby to forge Neifi's signature.
  18. The Bulls won't win more than one game in this series. The Heat are just too talented, and it doesn't help when the refs are awful and the Bulls make dumbass plays on top of that.
  19. Hope so, there aren't many better sights than Jacque positively beaming as he rounds the bases after a big home run.
  20. Unfortunately, it's looking like they're going to pretty much do what they did last year, except this time it'll be a bunch of hitters having career years more so than pitchers.
  21. Off the field, Dempster is my favorite Cub. On the field, it's Murton in a landslide. LANDSLIDE. IMO this is the best pure hitter to come up with the Cubs since Grace. I just love the way this kid does his job.
  22. It was posted in the game thread from Sunday by Vance. Apparently he's the only Cub in 2 years Vance can't get to sign, and that was his given reason why. Which is hilarious. I'd be willing to bet I could get more from my autograph on EBay than Neifi could. It's a legit reason. Lots of guys don't like signing for adults because they think they're just out to make a profit. Lots of autograph hounds are real scumbags. The flip I just thought was dumb, not arrogant. Neifi is always out on the mound trying to settle down pitchers, and has been both helpful towards Cedeno along with not raising a peep about not playing every day despite being paid like it. I second this whole post.
  23. Shouldn't this be in Polls? And his nickname is "The Big Murt".
  24. We turned the TV to the Cubs game from the Bulls game right before Walker's walk. It was all us.
