  1. Well duh, if you are reporting from St. Louis, you have to be in St. Louis, and regardless of the outcome of the game, life sucks in St. Louis. Note to St. Louis, everyone else figured out how to bread and fry ravioli, you ain't got nothin' anymore. The rest of the world knows how to cook pizza to. What is your point? Life is actually pretty nice in St. Louis right now. The weather is nice and the baseball is great. I have to disagree with you re: pizza. Giordano's still does pizza better than anyone on the planet, and it's not close.
  2. DA GOOZ!!!!! Finally I'll get to see Angel in action! :D Decent lineup today, BTW. Neifi finally batting where he belongs.
  3. Sad but true. . The Cubs beat STL and Houston in the season series last year and had major problems with bad teams. I'm not sure how good a thing that the easy schedule really is.
  4. That's a lie. I did a simulated start yesterday. [zombie Cub fan]Ok, then you'll be back by early May for sure![/zombie Cub fan]
  5. By no means do we expect brilliance or even competence. It just continues to amaze us that he has a job. And Walker should want out. I wouldn't blame him. This organization is like a tomb for intelligence right now.

    sad.

What's that song? I need to listen to some sadness music tonite. Untitled - Simple Plan Good song. But don't forget to slit your wrists.
  7. An evil Sox fan I know calls Prior and Wood The Simple Life - two players who are famous for no apparent reason. Har har har.

    sad.

I'm 19 and already pretty sure that I'll die before the Cubs win a Series again. I don't believe in curses, but the Cubs just have had an insane run of bad luck in the last five years (to say nothing of the previous 93) that just never seems to even out in their favor. But baseball is baseball and I love it.
  9. For some reason this sounded like something a British action hero might say before kicking someone's face in, and it made me chuckle.
  10. John Mabry still lives in STL, he's going to migrate back to the Cardinals!
  11. Game over. The parade of depression continues.
  12. http://stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_116414.jpg What the heck is that?
  13. I can only hope we win one day. The party we'd have would put everyone to shame - even Boston.
  14. Poor guy's only been with us for a season and a month and he's already had the hope beaten out of him.
  15. This seems like a good time to say that I would switch Eyre and Lee's situations in approximately .0000005 seconds.
  16. We know Angel Guzman's going to go down eventually anyway - why not bring him up and see what he's got??
  17. Neifi would have swung at that pitch if Looper turned around and threw it to second base.
  18. Dusty Baker has made this our lineup: Pierre Cedeno Bynum Ramirez Mabry Jones Pitcher Blanco Neifi Fire him. Please. Now.
  19. It wasn't just those two. The Cards were the only team in all of baseball last year to trot out the same 5 starting pitchers every time, all season long.
  20. The sad thing is I'm still following the game. I don't want to miss it if we defy the odds and come back. The great part is that I chose this. When I was 12, I could've just stayed with Atlanta even though I moved from South Carolina. I could have avoided all of this if it weren't for my best friend making me fall in love with this team.
  21. These things don't happen to all teams. How many starts did White Sox pitchers miss last year? How about Cardinals pitchers? How many injuries other than Jeter/Huckaby and Giambi's steroids infection have the Yanks dealt with since 2001? Other than Schill's bloody sock, what serious problems has Boston had in the last couple of years? These things DON'T happen to all teams. 6-foot-6 man-children do not get their wrists fractured by people who are smaller than my 13-year-old brother. It just doesn't happen.
  22. I can only hope that two years from now, when Murton, Cedeno, DLee, Aramis and Eric Patterson are the core of a World Series-winning team, that we'll look back on this as "the growth process". I'm 19 years old and I'm convinced I'll die before the Cubs win another one.
