  1. Cubs usually do pretty well against Willis. My only worry is whether Marshall will continue to pitch well. Hopefully someone can step up big for the Cubs. This really is a lovable team. They struggle sometimes but they have a never-say-die attitude and that has contributed to already winning 60 percent of last year's total of comeback wins. Here's hoping they can keep it up.
  2. TT, now that Badger edited his post, I'm waiting for yours.
  3. I was at a friend's tonight for the Bulls game, and thank the Lord the Bulls collapsed in time to turn to the Cubs game and see that eighth inning. Can I just say that I love Matt Murton??? He's the best pure hitter the Cubs have had since Grace! And Jacque Jones should not be booed anymore. He sucks. It's true. He'll never be probably even an average RF with the Cubs. But he has come up HUGE twice when we desperately needed it now, so let's lay off eh? :D
  4. Someone will hit a homer this inning, I can feel it.
  5. Another hit for the pitcher. The Cubs HAVE to lead the majors in giving up hits to pitchers. They just have to.
  6. After the earlier talk of Z's possible no-no, I'd expect nothing less.
  7. Ah yes, let's pull out the Gold Glove plays too, just to rub it in.
  8. It's fate's fault more than anything. ESPN is just recounting what the baseball gods do to us.
  9. Z buckles down and throws another filthy strikeout pitch. He looks to have good stuff if he can stop walking people.
  10. Sutcliffe talking about how the Cubs are lucky not to be playing Willis tonight, clearly unaware of our luck against young pitchers.
  11. Filthy pitch to K Jacobs. Where was that when Miggy was up?
  12. He's never, ever, ever going to get the credit for being an ace if he doesn't quit pulling this crap. And he won't deserve to until he does.
  13. HAHAHAHA They just showed a glimpse of Randall Simon as a Cub on the intro :D
  14. Holy crap, the game's on here! :Parties:
  15. I'm back up to 4, with Ichiro, Ryan Howard and Giambi going the next few days.
  16. I'm not a huge fan of either, but I like the Beatles more.
  17. Game is at 7 pm CT on TNT.
  18. 3.93 ERA, 65/41 K/BB, 1.39 WHIP in 2004. If he returns to that form he'd be a nice addition - if he is still the Day of 2005 with a near-7.00 ERA and a WHIP above 2, well, we probably won't see him pitch for the Cubs. Not much of a gamble, so I like this move.
  19. I think Wood's gone unless he proves he can stay healthy once he is back and goes "Pedro in 1999" or similar on opposing hitters from May on.
  20. Hope not. Bulls in the playoffs trumps early season Cubs games so if he did I'd miss most of it.
