  1. I agree, but they weren't scoring points like this last year even against the same bad teams. I'm scared of them right now.
  2. That would be a tremendous trade if the Cubs could swing it.
  3. I imagine Herbstreit will fly to E. Lansing, but I can't imagine Gameday going to Columbus next week.
  4. The Blue-Gray Sky blog made an offhand comment in their review of the game that Samardzija's lack of success this season has something to do with the Cubs. I'm not sure I buy it, considering no one has played up to expectations this year yet.
  5. Any of you 500 Mizzou students ever hang out to watch a game?
  6. My results are correct.
  7. ND State is ranked 17th in Division 1-AA - one spot behind S. Illinois, who just beat the Hoosiers. And they've handled their first two opponents very easily. If the Cards aren't careful, they could easily lose this game. If the Irish lose to Michigan State again, I'm going to go ballistic.

  10. so, where would you rank ND after that loss today? I would have had them no higher than 20, but I'm not going to complain about being ranked 12 for obvious reasons.
  11. I think it had to do with the questioning over the quality of his FB. I think alot of people thought it topped at 89-91 and that wouldn't cut it in the big leagues. I don't know where that came from though. I thought it had more to do with the fact that at the time batters were crushing every fastball he threw.
  12. You'd have to be pretty thin-skinned to be embarrassed by a 14-point loss to an extremely talented team. You should have been embarassed by that defensive effort. 617 yards is ungodly. I shouldn't have been embarrassed by anything, because I had nothing to do with it. Ever the optimist, I prefer to note that the Irish still had a chance to come back and win up until 2 minutes were left in the game despite the bad defense. Not well enough. Couldn't have dropped the ball if he tried last year, not so much this year.
  13. You'd have to be pretty thin-skinned to be embarrassed by a 14-point loss to an extremely talented team.
  14. I'm glad I don't know many Michigan fans. I shudder at what they'd say after the Irish smack them around on Saturday. You were saying? Heh. And to think Michigan was the least worrisome to me of the first 4 games.
  15. I'm glad I don't know many Michigan fans. I shudder at what they'd say after the Irish smack them around on Saturday. Where did this come from, why were they brought up here? So odd. For the recoed Michigan doesnt get smacked around, they lose, but they most definetly do not get smacked around. The last time i can remember them getting 'smacked' around was like 5 years ago against Iowa. That was probably the only true ass kicking they have takin in many of years. Wanna talk about getting smacked around how bout 38-0. The year after ND's miraclous season. That my friend is beat down, smack down, whatever; ND will never be able to give Michigan that type of beat down tha Michigan gave ND Anyway i would vote WS fans in this poll. Are they really paranoid or insecure? It seems more like a insecure poll than paranoid. Paraniod i would say are Red Sox and Cubs fans as thinking something bad is about to happen. I would call last year's Michigan game a pretty thorough victory. The margin was only 7 points, but ND's defense completely dominated UM the whole game. Take away two fluke plays of ND's (the Carlson drop-to-pick-six and Quinn's weird fumble) and the margin would be 12 today, but that wouldn't have made the game any less one-sided.
  16. WOW Rich Hill...and to think half this board (including me) had him written off as a quadruple A pitcher. Amazing!
  17. I had title aspirations. I don't anymore. But kudos go to Michigan, as I said in my post in the regular college thread. They just played a sterling football game and shouldn't have a problem finishing 2nd in the Big Ten. A potential matchup of unbeatens between OSU and Michigan is pretty enticing at the moment.
  18. Well, that was ugly. There was not one player on the team that I am not angry with right now, except maybe for Travis Thomas. Quinn only threw 1 pick that was his fault, but he also fumbled one away, and short-armed a lot of receivers. Walker and the offensive line were a joke. The defense didn't play terrible, about as well as you can play when you give up 33 points (discounting the two turnover TDs by Mich), but I think a lot of credit goes to Henne - the last two of Manningham's three scores were just beautiful throws by Chad. The reffing was simply a joke in favor of Michigan most of the game besides a bogus late hit call (with Walker the beneficiary this time), but you can't complain too much about it when you lose by 26. Michigan played as good a game as I've seen an opponent play against us in years. Kudos. ND responded by playing the worst I've seen out of them since the F$U game in 2003 - 5 turnovers?!?! I guess 2008 is the year now. In other news, Ball State lost to Purdue 38-28, but BSU scored the last 15, so it wasn't that close. Painter tore our defense apart. Very disappointing from the Cards after Purdue's joke showings in the first two games.
  19. Training staff, pitcher abuse and everything else aside, why the Cubs seem to have twice as many injuries as every other baseball team, every season, boggles the mind. You couldn't do that if you tried.
  20. I'll be at the Stadium to see the Irish beat Michigan for the third straight time. Good luck Lllloyd and company.
  21. There's no doubt about this. I bought a 2005 ND highlight DVD, and they show in the beginning the whole 0-6 prediction, and Kirk turns around and goes "Notre Dame will be 4-2 after 6 games and average over 30 points a game." Absolutely floored me.
  22. Back and forth lunacy on the halftime report of WV/Maryland. Making picks - Holtz picks "the university of USC" to beat Nebraska. Seriously. May counters by picking Michigan over Notre Dame based on their defensive coordinator. The same one whose defense is giving up 12 ppg against Vandy and CMU at home, as opposed to ND's 13.5 ppg on defense against GT (on the road) and Penn State. If you think Michigan is going to win the game, great, but don't give us a reason that makes no sense.
  23. Theriot becomes the latest Cub attacked by the line drive. How many is that this season, like 7?
  24. As I've said before, I feel really bad for Liriano, but at the same time, it's nice to know this crap doesn't happen only to us.
