  1. Clearly the refs are out to get Notre Dame. What are your thoughts on the personal foul on Trannon? I didn't see it, but nothing I said would change your guys' mind anyway since you all think the media and the refs all love the Irish.
  2. Re: Kirk's comment about a blatant hold by MSU... Holding calls this season: On ND - 12, on ND's opponents - 0 Edit - I spoke too soon. MSU becomes the first ND opponent to be whistled for holding this year. And it came at a good time.
  3. If God ever liked Notre Dame, this rainstorm in a 16-point deficit is pretty good proof that He doesn't anymore. If MSU scores here it's over.
  4. I don't care if you are playing in sludge, tackling like that is inexcusable.
  5. Is Brent Musburger out of his mind? When you're down by 10 in the 2nd half, you don't have the luxury of playing "field position".
  6. Another 3 and out, and a terrible punt gives ND the ball inside MSU's 45. A score here would do wonders.
  7. TOUCHDOWN JOHN CARLSON!!!! Finally some protection...
  8. It's possible that Washington is just the place for Ty Willingham...they beat UCLA today! Then again, it's also possible that this is a 2002-ND type fluke.
  9. No more pro-media comments please. The national media is taking as much or more pleasure in this debacle as you guys are. I just got back from the BSU game...lost 29-24 to ND State. Never had a good feeling about the game. Had a worse feeling when our coaching staff bungled everything up. Game-winning TD was scored on a jailbreak screen, and 10 of the 11 Cardinals were on the wrong side of him when he caught the ball. Then with 1:25 to work with, Brady Hoke put in our true freshman Nate Davis...who didn't really do anything wrong, since the offensive line is an absolute joke. Then the refs threw a pass interference flag on the 4th down play, and picked it up to win it for the Bison. If Carolina loses tomorrow I might actually cry.
  10. He's fine, Dusty is just realizing a few months too late that Jacque shouldn't be playing against lefties. Pagan batting ahead of Mabry too - John should never be in the lineup, but at least he's not batting ahead of vastly superior players anymore.
  11. Penn State picks off Troy Smith on a bad pass. Go Nittany Lions!!!
  12. West Virginia's murderous schedule continues today against East Carolina. Purdue's first 4 games: give up 35 to winless I-AA team...need blocked FG to get Miami OH to overtime...win by 10 over Ball State...clinch win over Minnesota by fumbling the snap on a QB sneak. I'm looking forward to when ND plays them next week.
  13. Ah yes, I became very familiar with that joke during the Davieham years.
  14. The OWNED triplets are back again, eh?
  15. :banned: Yeah, check the NSBB Facebook group to see what he thinks about that. For those of us who can't use facebook, can you copy and paste me a blurb...even if it's via pm. This is the extent of it.
  16. This one came out of left field, eh?
  17. :banned: Yeah, check the NSBB Facebook group to see what he thinks about that.
  18. There's a thread in the fantasy forum, anyone can jump into the pool at any time.
  19. Georgia Tech is ripping Virginia a new one, 24-0 four minutes into the 2nd half. Granted UVA is coming off a loss to Western Michigan, but I really think the Jackets are going to win the ACC.
  20. General rule: If a board has made the news, it's probably not a board you want to be around.
  21. What Conservatives want in order of importance fiscal responsibility strong on national defense someone that can win end of list There might be a tiny section of the GOP that wouldn't embrace an African American female candidate. The same is also true for the DNC If by tiny you mean the "Christian" Coalition or Family "Research" Council A.K.A., Bush's base you might be right. http://www.frc.org/. The only difference between these people and the kkk is the sheet. And the whole part where they're not racists. Close, though. On women's role in society http://www.frc.org/file.cfm?f=KEYWORD&key=ROL Race issues note the title: Did Lincoln kill the Constitution http://www.frc.org/get.cfm?i=WT00C1 "But not Lincoln. To the contrary, Lincoln occupied a comparatively conservative place on the anti-slavery spectrum, largely because of his reluctance to ignore the constitutional securities for slavery. " I never argued against the theory that some Christian groups are living in the past re: women. The second article has absolutely no pro-slavery or even pro-racist connotations, despite its controversial title.

  23. Eh, I kinda like the tradition. The baseball parade and whatever, everyone talking about how great baseball tradition is in Cincinnati, and then the Cubs put up 15-16 runs on the Reds, then lose the rest of the games in the series. What's weird is our home opener doesn't come until the next Monday, which kinda stinks. Anyone remember the last time we opened at home? That's not weird at all. This year was the first time in a while that we even had a first-week home series. Last opener at home was 2001 against Montreal.
  24. If the Cubs open the season in Cincinnati again I'm going to be unhappy. Edit - And in fact they will, per this article in the Dayton Daily News.
  25. In the sports month from hell (ND crapping the bed, Ball State blowing a big lead against IU, the Panthers not having any semblance of an offense, and the Cubs continuing their utter and complete suckage), the White Sox falling out of the playoff hunt is the only good thing to hang my hat on, and I'm enjoying it thoroughly.
