  1. I picked Mark Warner. But I honestly have no idea. I do know that McCain has attacked fellow Republicans too much to be nominated (and to a lesser extent than the following two, is more moderate than the right likes to see), and Giulani and Condi have no snowball's chance in hell because they're far too liberal for the right.
  2. If you offered me the chance to spend a year following any athlete in any sport, my first 5 choices would all be Carlos Zambrano.
  3. If we actually made any effort to document each bad managerial move in this thread, Tim would have had to buy more servers a long time ago.
  4. I can literally taste the irony right now. what irony is that? I'm not really referring to you guys so much as all the idiots I knew in college. Well, idiots aren't objective no matter who they root for...:)
  5. Glad I could humor you
  6. Heh, a mid major with a little history. That's cute. Which "OMFG ND Sox GO [insert name of Big Ten team here]" website did that come from? I'll give you credit at least for knowing how to spell Weis unlike half of your ilk.
  7. The question that the original post was responding to was asked by Ricardo G., who I assume is just Edward K. trying out a Latino pseudonym. If "a long time" is "since 2004 when Corey Patterson did much better than Pierre in 2006", then yes.
  8. Well, setting aside the ignorant tone of your post, my first suggestion, and one I've made a thousand times, would be to try Jones out there. Sorry did I offend your overly sensitive nature sweety. Jones? Like as in Jacque Jones? Great suggestion....no....no really. I'd rather you said Pie but Jones is....you cannot be serious. Might as well get Lofton for a year. In the defence of JP. Put him in the line-up suggested and he'll produce and have a great year. Jones will have a...er...a...a year just like this year if not worse. But on the bright side the Cubs strikout totals will be maintained. Matthews Jr. would have been a better suggestion. Marion Jones would have been better. Juan doesn't produce, why would the lineup change that? Strikeout totals are meaningless, what matters is OBP and SLG, that's what produces the big R, which is how you win baseball games, which is the point. Unless of course your goal is simply to field a team of stereotypes from a bygone era. In addition to that, Matthews is a terrible idea. He is an absolute lock to be overpaid because of his "Web Gems" and his fluky season. Jones in CF is a good idea...if only we could find a decent RF.

  10. The Heckler was all over this in their July issue.
  11. Travelle Wharton sucks and single-handedly tried to get Delhomme killed in the first Bears game and the NFC title game. And I'm so used to Carolina seasons being submarined by injuries that it's hard to be surprised. This would make three seasons in a row that preseason title hopes have been dashed by a spate of injuries. That's a little harsh don't you think? I will say that he was terrible during the regular season against the Bears but the protection in the playoffs was amazing for Delhomme. Delhomme had so many fumbles last season caused by getting hit from his blind side that it was embarrassing. Heck, it happened 2 more times in the Atlanta game. Who is taking over now at LT now thatr he's out. They haven't decided yet but it will probably be Geoff Hangartner, after a failed attempt at putting Wahle there yesterday. Dan Morgan out indefinitely with his 5 billionth concussion, Smith hardly a lock to play in week 2...it's happening all over again.
  12. Perhaps Dusty is thinking "Wood 2007 closer" in the back of his mind? Probably not.

  14. The fact that he's actually pitched decently of late by itself should have put him on alert. The better you pitch as a Cub, the better your chance of suffering some terrible long-term injury.
  15. I'm glad I don't know many Michigan fans. I shudder at what they'd say after the Irish smack them around on Saturday.

  17. Theriot usually plays 2B, not SS. Izturis plays SS. It's between Bynum (Baker's pet) and Theriot. I mean because Cedeno plays 2B now again, giving Dusty two pets to play over Theriot along with Bynum.
  18. Great...Izturis back. That means Theriot has played his last game in a Cubs uniform.
  19. For the record, if Georgia Tech isn't pulling a Michigan State where they play really well against ND but sucks against everyone else, I think they could well win the ACC this year. The conference isn't as strong as it usually is this year, and GT's defense is strong enough to carry them all the way there if they remember to "get...the....baw....to...number 21....Calvin....Johnson." (a little Davie for you there)
  20. I think there have been some clear cut examples (on this board) of people who get really uptight when the ND hate comes out. Take the argument about whether or not Weis ran up the score against PSU. All the "you're only complaining because it's ND" comments came out. Well, that was me. Most of us don't care, I do. :P
  21. Mine are correct per Yahoo.
  22. White Sox fans by far. I can definitively say that most ND fans could give two craps if anyone likes them as long as they win.
  23. Wow, not even one of those deals was even remotely acceptable.
