  1. we had 0 injuries last year. i think harden missed a week and krstic missed 7 games and that was literally it. I think we maybe overachieved last year, and I think our defense takes a step back without ron adams (f you bulls) http://thepaintedarea.blogspot.com/2010/10/2010-11-nba-win-overunder-predictions.html That's a good consensus look. I was surprised that all 3 had OKC below 52 which is the U/O. Actually all 3 had them below 50 which I find weird. And Kevin Pelton has the Lakers at 46 which I think might be a typo.
  2. Yeah I forgot about them. I wouldn't be stunned or anything if OKC and Portland were fighting for a 2-4 seed.
  3. My philosophy on NBA coaches is that they make a big difference, if you've got a good one. Sounds kind of dumb but there are probably 3-4 elite ones (Phil, Sloan, Popovich, Brown) and a half dozen or so good to very good ones (I'd put guys like Rivers, Adelman, and Van Gundy, in that group). Guys play hard for Vinny, to his credit, but he was a terrible tactician. I could go on and on about things I hated about the offensive system, timeout management, substitution patterns, etc. I think/hope Thibs can be in that 2nd tier of coaches. It is kind of weird that he hadn't gotten a head coach job so that gives me concern but I can say without much exaggeration, there hasn't been a more qualified assistant coach in the league in the last 20 years and maybe even longer than that. I think people say coaches don't make a big difference because there's a revolving pool of 20 retreads that constantly pop up and get jobs on rebuilding teams.
  4. Just 50? Who in the West got better? Houston maybe. The Thunder are the only playoff team in the West who was going to get better just organically, everyone else is old as hell. They're a realistic 1 seed if the Lakers put it on cruise control in the regular season (as they probably should).
  5. Wow, top 5? Really? There are 10 teams with 2 wins or less and another 5 with 3 wins or less. Dallas faces 3 of those teams the rest of the year, plus a bunch of other mediocre and/or injury depleted teams. I would think only the Giants and Colts games are really scary. The league, and especially the NFC, is filled with mediocre teams. I think Dallas stands as good of a chance of picking outside the top 10 than in the top 5. Dallas will be playing the next 6-8 weeks with Kitna at QB. We may beat Jacksonville, but then I can't see us beating the Giants or Packers with Kitna. So, assuming a win against the Jags, losses to Giants and Packers...then maybe a win at home against Detroit, losses to New Orleans, Indianapolis, and Philly...if Romo returns after missing 7 games, we would be 3-10 with three games to play. Those three games would be Philly, Washington, and Arizona. Is 4-12 bad enough for a top five pick? I don't know, but it's surely likely. It's the NFL, man. Teams rarely lose to all the teams they should and rarely beat all the ones they should. No Freaking Logic. I'd be surprised if Dallas gets a top 5 pick unless they just quit.
  6. Seriously though, 46.5 is absurd and it's sort of angering me. There's just no way with reasonable health. Basketball prospectus is predicting 49-33.
  7. You'd say 41 was just about perfect. Bulls will win more games than the Celtics BOOK IT (ok not really but 46.5 is low). I think they'll clear 50 with room to spare.
  8. I don't know anything about basketball I've just been surprised with how much love they've received despite completely failing to get what they planned on getting this offseason. Boozer seems like a terrible fallback option. But then again I was thinking people had them winning 48-49 games. They don't get to feast on their own division do they? They play Miami and Boston as much as Cleveland and Detroit? The difference between Boozer and Chris Bosh is negligible. It's considered a miss because he got lumped in with Wade and James when he is clearly closer to guys like Boozer, Amare, and David Lee. It's a big upgrade. Of course he's hurt. Tactically, going from VDN (terrible) to Tom Thibodeau is huge. If he can get the team to play hard like Vinny did then they'll be a lot better. 46.5 is really low. Bulls are gonna clear that easily barring really bad injuries.
  9. Woj reporting that the Knicks broke draft rules by holding improper workouts with prospects and that Brandon Rush actually suffered the knee injury that knocked him out in 07 at one of these workouts. So basically the Knicks helped KU win the title by screwing up Rush's knee in an illegal work out and that made him go back to school. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AnpUQe.1xV4SNMya5.HhGuK8vLYF?slug=aw-knicksdraft102610
  10. Schedule First game is against Oklahoma City tomorrow night at 7 CST. It'll be on ESPN. In anticipation of the season starting I present the two best moments from last season: Joakim Noah gives his thoughts on the city of Cleveland
  11. I almost wish some super team would emerge in the North and just run away with the division because now the Bears will mathematically be in it until late in the season and it might force the team to play well enough to save jobs.
  12. Personally I thought it should've been a touchdown.
  13. Ha ha. Whatever did happen to closet crapper? And Childress looks like a math teacher I had in Middle School. Was your middle school math teacher also on To Catch a Predator?
  14. Peterson did carry the ball 28 times...I wouldn't exactly call that failing to feed him the ball. What was weird was Favre pump faking at a receiver, moving around, and then trying to throw to that same receiver, seems like he'd be doing that to set up Moss down the field.
  15. What does the penis thing have to do with booing him at Lambeau? Are you just fed up with those scatological antics after having Najeh Davenport on the team?
  16. I can't disagree with most of that. Only thing I'd quibble with is not acknowledging that Cutler clearly broke the plane on the fumble.
  17. Packers got away with a PI on that Harvin no-catch.
  18. lol sounds about right
  19. ball game [expletive] this noise
  20. No way we matriculate the ball down field with dinks and dunks. Knox won't run a complete route anyway unless it's straight down the field. ALL GOs!
  21. lol knox cutting off routes again
  22. Why does Johnny Knox have a brown beard and a flesh colored mustache?
  23. Is Forte's grip that weak? It wasn't a very violent punch out of the ball.
  24. If they would actually put Devin A. in there, I'd be for it, but I can't see Knox or Bennett getting enough air to catch one. I saw him blocking on some of those nice runs on the last drive.
