  1. I'm assuming we would have heard something if Brett was hurt, right?
  2. Without a major trade, it looks like the plan is to let Korver, Brewer, and Watson leave. With the luxury tax at 70 mill, we have the MLE and resigning Asik as the 2 main offseason to-do's. And we won't have a full MLE unless we use it before we sign Asik. Contracts are kicking in now, so unless we make a major trade, the new CBA is going to begin depleting us.
  3. Wthout watching, was the Braun HBP intentional?
  4. Double by DeJesus, bunt single from Campana. DP by Castro damnit.
  5. Good point. That said, we don't even know that's what Law was talking about. Personally, if he's sitting 92-94 instead of 94-96, I wouldn't make a big deal about it. If it's more of a substantial drop, of course it's alarming then. His only drop this year, if I remember correctly WAS a little more pronounced of a drop, but could have just been his dead arm period. Could be wrong though.
  6. Zimmer's line against Santa Clara last night: 7IP 6H 1R 1ER 2W 11K......Of course, when asked about it, Law said it's not about the box score. Still, he couldn't have been THAT bad, to put up a line like that at least. My guess is a slight velo drop or something.
  7. I saw Joe Louis the other day and asked him. He said, " Alfonso Soriano? Alfonso Soriano? He's 127 years old!"
  8. Volstad's due for a really good outing actually. It seems like when there's a game like this, the other team evens it out the next day.
  9. I figure Marmol goes on the DL tomorrow for sure, just to get an arm up. Probably Maine.
  10. He's already got a more defined role he's solid in. To me, the experience will help Dolis more. Of course, if this year isn't a mulligan, Russell probably is the slightly better option.
  11. With the emergence of Correa, Almora, and Fried, even if Giolito still has questions, we'll have guys there for us I'm fine with.
  12. We don't have a closer, so I'm fine with keeping Dolis there, even if he winds up as a 7th inning guy once we're good.
  13. Read somewhere most think Hamilton gets 180 if he hits the open market.
  14. Is it meatbally to say that he does that a lot in RBI situations? Pressing? I thought the same thing. He probably is pressing a bit, because he knows he's being counted on more.
  15. Daytona got postponed after leading 6-0 in the 2nd. Silva and Alcantara were both 2-2, Torreyes was 1-1.
  16. I hate to say it, but I wonder how much our pitching has been helped by having 19 of 31 games at home so far, with the wind blowing in the entire time?
  17. Wow, 64 pitches thru 3 for Garza? I hope he can give us 6 tonight somehow.
  18. A team has to be willing to forfeit their 1st rounder, in order to sign him. Even if he has a great season, at his age, it's certainly iffy that a team would do that.
  19. 5 years? I'm loving the optimism this board has been showing about us contending next year even. I can't wait to see what this board becomes when Rizzo and Brett come up and play well.
  20. Have people been thinking that way? If so, I've been oblivious to it, I guess. I agree our FO made this hire as a longterm fit. I was completely in the Maddux camp but I thought Sveum would be a good hire as well. I think Maddux will eventually take a job, but I doubt he does anything Sveum isn't already doing.
  21. I was having a brain cramp. I forgot Wolf was a lefty.
  22. No, but Reed and Baker are 1-2. Playing CF and RF.
