  1. Certainly a SSS, but he's looked better than either of Correa or Buxton so far.
  2. Cool. Damn, that lineup is STACKED.
  3. As far as the O-Line goes, while I wish they had addressed it, I guess I can see why they didn't. We weren't going to get a LT in the 1st. And anything after that is at least conceivably another project. Our inside guys are at least passable and while he was an UDFA, I look at Brown AS addressing it, on some level, as he was a second day value. There wasn't a solid LT on the FA market either, so I figure we'll probably use our 1st or 2nd on one next year and go defense predominantly with our other picks. The line was an issue, but not nearly as much of one with Cutler behind center as with anyone else after him. The quick slants to Marshall should be OK and the running game hopefully helps things open up a bit downfield too. But next year, I really hope LT is as big a priority as anything else. It needs to be.
  4. In arbiteation, I agree. But I seriously doubt either side even wants to talk extension right now. We'd want a huge discount and I'd certainly think he'd rather hit the market after a solid season, than agree on a much lesser deal right now.
  5. Gigantic lack of supply versus demand. You have Greinke on a tier by himself and that's if the Angels don't lock him up before he hits the market. After that, it gets murky. You have Peavy, Sanchez, and Jackson, that appear to me as the next tier. Followed by McCarthy and Marcum, due to injuries. Then it's upside versus risk in guys like Liriano and Santana. And the cagey vet group of Dempster, Kuroda, Lohse, Saunders, and Blanton. I'm not sure where you slot in a Villanueva, but he's got to be somewhere in the middle of that, if not higher.
  6. Wait, is Carimi injured again? What the bell did I miss?
  7. I'm usually very pessimistic doing this and I still went with 11. Schedule isn't bad at all and I honestly feel the offense will be good enough to carry the D this season. The O-Line is scary, but it should be slightly better with the quicker strike approach, so I think we'll be very good.
  8. The guy has 48 starts in the majors. 293 appearances. Kind of hard to put a label on him.
  9. No. what was he talking about? I wonder if he's finally gotten some new info on him, because his Twitter comments on Vitters still seem pretty meh, for the most part.
  10. Why would it be? I guess it's just the meatballs that'll be pissed as hell if he's not a lifetime Bear. I guess it's been proven many times guys don't typically get to stick in one place anyway.
  11. He's hurt, so yes we can I understand he's hurt, but if he's healthy enough to be listed as probable, for instance? Is he going to become disenchanted and act or at least insinuate we're holding him back during a FA year? I know he's the "team leader" and all, but I could see that becoming a distraction.
  12. And, by the way, is it blasphamous for me to say I hope we move on from him after this year?
  13. Sitting him out is what I'd do too. But with him in a FA season, if he is technically healthy and is wanting to play, can we get by with sitting him and not looking bad because of it?
  14. Geez, Villanueva on a ST invite? Hell, I've kind of written him off because he may require a longer deal than what I figure we'll be giving out this offseason. If he keeps up what he's doing, I could see someone going 3-33ish or so on him.
  15. 2.8 fWAR right now. Not too shabby.
  16. I doubt we go more than 2 years on anyone this offseason. I expect a guy like Ervin Santana, Liriano maybe, Shaun Marcum at the max. But I do expect us to add one good cost controlled, young starter via trade. Not for Garza either, who is a total unknown for us obviously, but that I'd bet is on our opening day roster.
  17. Honestly, a lot of the minor leaguers do that. Post positive comments and/or articles talking about their performance. Hell, I like it honestly. I like these guys getting noticed and if it helps get them in the right frame of mind, I'm all for it.
  18. Balaguert only has one, 3 guys have two and the other 5 guys all have at least three.
  19. Marra's not good defensively, right?
  20. I doubt it. The lack of pitching available will most likely force teams to overpay.
  21. If the Arizona boxscore is correct, Maples has a 3 2 0 0 1 5 line at the moment.
  22. The Boise Twitter said Boise scored twice in the 1st, but milb has it 1-1 in the 3rd. Lol.
  23. To me, you shut him down at 160. Yeah, you've got a shot this year, but it's too much of a crapshoot for me to risk it. Throwing Gio, Zimmermann, and Jackson could STILL get it done too. Young core, don't take risk on a generational type arm this soon after TJS.
