    It never really crossed his mind, to go see the love of his life in the hospital. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8859077/manti-teo-notre-dame-fighting-irish-denies-being-part-hoax-late-girlfriend I would take a couple days off at a time to play Super Tecmo Bowl. I think anyone could find time to see "the love of their life".

    I feel bad for Schaap. Hopefully this transcript gets published online, at the very least. No question about her funeral, the flowers, why he wasn't there? Or why he readily brought it up even after hearing from her in December? Love of his,life supposedly. I think he was duped, but I think he's playing the hell out of THAT part of it and not the part where he was using it for his own personal gain. Human nature, obviously, but he needs to acknowledge and apologize for it, because he's not clear of any wrongdoing here. It'll blow over, as everything does eventually, but he likely thinks this was it. But it isn't going away THAT easy.

    I think he WAS very naive. I doubt he was in on it. But I think he embelished it and used it for his personal gain most likely. It'll be interesting to see whether he admits to any wrongdoing or not.

    So suspicious that he doesn't want his public humiliation to be at the top of the news, you're right. If he comes clean about everything, then sure, but if nothing gets told? No. If he's totally innocent, this can be handled tonight.

    Also weird that it's not a televised interview and that he waited til the weekend, when news gets buried, to do it.

    If Garza is willing to sign something like Edwin did it does not bode well for his confidence regarding his health. To clarify, if he's willing to sign for 4 years, even at 16ish per, I'd keep him. However, it seems like he wants a NTC. I wouldn't go down that road, if he insists. Seems like he loves Chicago though, maybe he's willing to give a legit discount. At any rate, a 2, 3, 4 of Shark, Garza, and Edwin sets up very well. Just have to find the 1.(Price)

    If Garza's willing to sign something like Edwin did, we need to keep him.

    I just asked Parks and he said good class. Lots of bats, no Sano type talents. Some solid arms as well. With our budget, we've got to make a couple of serious splashes. Bats are probably a bit easier to project out, but I hope we get a couple of the best pitchers.

    Because college football programs never foolishly stick by somebody. Very true, but damn, you'd think they'd learn. In this case though, is it possible Notre Dame could get in any trouble? I'm not seeing how anyway.

    Golic took up for him mostly, basically saying it didn't make sense for Notre Dame to back him as staunchly as they are, unless they're extremely confident in their findings. That said, he also mentioned he didn't get to know him well and he didn't go out much, when there were get togethers.

    If he ends up having to come out as a result of this, it'll be very interesting to see the fall-out obviously. Honestly, I think thats where this is heading. Is he a sympathetic figure at that point or a flat-out liar? Mixed perception galore, in all likelihood.

    Theo expects both Garza and Baker to be ready for the start of the season. Mentioned Baker may be around the 75 pitch limit at that point, then raised the possibility of piggybacking with him.

    All this stuff that AwfulAnnouncing is tweeting now is starting to make me believe he really was duped. Then tried to cover it up.

    Does a couple things: Kind of sets baseline for Soriano deal and likely eliminates Bourn suitor. In Cameron's chat today, he guessed 3/42 on Bourn. Was asked specifically if Cubs could sign him AND Lohse, to possibly flip them later, he didn't dismiss it.
